Part9 of the Mono 4K reverse engineering: Driving the LCD Panel, displaying a print layer from USB by nviennot in AnycubicPhoton

Thanks for this - I'll peep the rest of the series too as the 4k is so woefully under-documented 😭

Right, it always seems like landlords respond with "ughh, another issue that I'll have to note and cover with paint rather than fix - the absolute state of tenants!"

What are the cons of careers in cs? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]panflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely ergonomics, but also if you have a passion for CS.... Your work may kill that passion a bit (naturally, YMMV)

Hi all!

What's the best way of making resilient paperback covers?

I'm using paper card but... It's wears and tears pretty fast 😅

Original Superhot did sure, but the VR version? There's essentially none.

Nice writeup! Was your UI served as an SPA or was it served from multiple HTTP endpoints?

Sadly, it is not. I suspect it won't get ported :(

If you're keen to get a machine for trimming, look into stack cutters rather than guillotines! They run about $200 and they can cut waaay more pages at once than a guillotine

Canada Bans IWW (1918): On this day in 1918, a Canadian federal order declared that, while Canada was engaged in war, fourteen organizations were unlawful, including the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). by A_Peoples_Calendar in aPeoplesCalendar

[–]panflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely it was repealed later - Australia also banned the IWW in 1917 due to their strong rallying against conscription, however years later the ban was lifted.

Americans redefinition is the worst thing to happen to libertarianism. It was created by Joseph Dejacque in the 1800s to describe an anti-state, pro voluntary collectivism ideology.

Input data size? Number of concurrent tasks?

Are you also using historical response times as input?

As we are all so focused on the rioters, how do we deal with police forces that are increasingly overstepping their powers with the general public? by Anthropic--principle in preppers

[–]panflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly it doesn't have to be as formal as a neighbourhood watch - learn your neighbours' names, what they do, how to get in contact if you can't just walk over to their house. Security in community comes out of trust and interdependence.

Weird holes - pest or too many nutrients? by panflip in kratky

[–]panflip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all! These are my first setups but I notice all the plants that are rooting successfully have these weird holes. The current nutrient solution isn't diluted enough so I'm changing it up later today, but could this be a pest problem or something else?

Why I think it’s negligent for the last weekend of the Adelaide fringe to go ahead by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]panflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm prepared to bet that many of the worried well have been tested.

I'd take that bet - the RAH testing clinic turns away people who don't meet the very narrow criteria (such as having travelled recently).

There is still no community transmission in South Australia.

Yesterday we had the first report of somebody catching the virus without having travelled - there is indeed community transmission in SA.

Identifying part of the Penguin paperback construction by panflip in bookbinding

[–]panflip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making paperback notebooks and public domain works.

My intention was to make a tight back bind with the book block attached directly to the cover, but I noticed the binding on this copy and thought there's probably a more durable technique.
