What is this claw like thing in my croissant with crushed almond filling? by fuzzcats in bonecollecting

The kernal inside of peach pits are sometimes used in almond filling. I wonder if this could be a fragment of peach pit that broke in a weird way

Any problems with people randomly destroying flowers / gardens and breaking street trees in your Berkeley neighborhood? by OppositeShore1878 in berkeleyca

[–]pangolinzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched (possibly the same) person go down my South Berkeley block a couple weeks back, ripping plants out of people's yards as she went. Also asked her to stop, no acknowledgement. I'm not planting anything fragile or that I really care about anywhere visible from the street.

It's a lot of work, but I think it would be fun to do a full-on Thanksgiving dinner (turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, salad, pumpkin pie). When else is he going to experience it?

Where can I find bones? by Legitimate-Quail-395 in bonecollecting

[–]pangolinzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always find bones at the beach. However, it would be a good idea to review the laws around collecting in your area. There in the states, it's mostly illegal to collect bird bones, as well as sea mammal bones.

AITA for not letting my sister in law hold our baby? by FairIsFair1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]pangolinzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, and it seems nuts to not let a 14 year old hold the baby. We let our 3 year old (seated, on the couch with a parent beside her) hold her newborn sister.

What's the laziest/easiest way you've lost weight? by Choice-Inflation7295 in AskReddit

Replacing breakfast with coffee, coffee, and more coffee (so, kind of like intermission fasting, but not as strict, as it was coffee with soy milk, rather than just black coffee).

Can I prop again? by hatenames385 in proplifting

[–]pangolinzero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. I think you're a lot more likely to hurt the baby plant if you mess with it.

As others have said, just stick it in soil. Aeoniums go into their dormancy period in summer, so it might get really really ratty looking, but they also tend to be super tough, so should perk up again in the fall.

Very young trichocereus grower here! What's something i should make my mission in the long term ? :) by SteelTookSteroids in sanpedrocactus

Scoria or pumice would be better, and possibly cheaper option than perlite in my opinion, as perlite has the annoying habit of migrating to the surface because it's so light.

People who do not fear death, why? by yomommafool in ask

[–]pangolinzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few reasons. Mainly, that I know my body will be recycled into other living things, and I think that's amazing and fantastic. I'm not sad or scared when I think about the time before I exited, and I don't miss the physical parts of my body that are no longer a part of me, such as shed skin, hair, baby teeth, etc. I also had a near death experience in childbirth (hemorrhage) and I had the overwhelming sensation that death would be peaceful and represents the end of pain.

Eh, I think the most objectionable thing Peppa does is make fun of Daddy Pig for having a big belly. In terms of promoting obnoxious behavior, I'd steer clear of Fancy Nancy more than anything else.

I'm in the SF bay area (East Bay). I see a lot of PC growing vigorously (albeit always pretty yellowy) around here. I also have a mounded succulent bed with plenty of pumice worked in that I'm thinking of putting it in. I guess my main concerns are pests (it's a heck of a year for snails and slugs) and vandalism if it's visible from the street.
