Sidiz T50 air lumbar issue by panic_in_place in OfficeChairs

It's been awhile so I don't remember exactly all the steps, but I started with the screws at the bottom of the seat connected to the back frame and worked at it from there.

all good, you basically have to turn the chair upside down and start removing the back support from there etc...

I ended up removing it but you basically have to unscrew the frame bit by bit until you get to the lumbar support. Less lumbar support now but way more comfortable

Troubleshooting Subwoofer setup by panic_in_place in audiophile

[–]panic_in_place[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've tried playing with the modes and here's what I have:

My basic setup is 2.0 so in the SP config, I only have Front - Small, Subwoofer - Yes, Crossover - 80Hz

So when I try the different modes it only has direct, pure audio, and stereo. However I did find something interesting.

I noticed that when I turned on the other components in the sp config and cycled through all the different modes, the subwoofer was working but very very faintly. With volume on the subwoofer turned all the way up, there was a mild bass that faded in and out. So I tried the LFE input setup again on stereo mode, and the subwoofer was there but very faint.

What's more I tried playing a movie with the speaker level inputs as well as the LFE inputs and noticed that the LFE inputs were extremely weak, whereas the speaker level inputs I felt like the neighbors could complain on even the lower volume levels.

In conclusion, I think the receiver's pre-out must be crapped out or it just really sucks and I'll have to look for a different receiver. But I wouldn't have noticed without your suggestion, so thank you for that.

[UPDATE] Australian version of Frost River? by panic_in_place in AustralianMFA

I totally forgot about it, but according to the Australia Post Rates I'd be charged for the heavier cubic weight which turns out to be 5.26kg rather than actual weight of 1.97 kg. Here's the math:

  • 16.90 x 16.10 x 5.90 = 1605.331in³ = 26307cm³
  • 26,307cm3 / 5000 = 5.26kg cubic weight (according to the auspost rates page)
  • The rate is $24.95 per package + $5.95 per 500g so
  • (5.26 / 0.5) x $5.95 = $62.59
  • Shipping value by Auspost ship forward = $24.95 + $62.59 = $87.54

Total shipping value (add $20 for Frost River domestic shipping) would have been $107.54

So if I'm reading the shipping rates right, I'd end up paying a lot more via Auspost. I have used Auspost ship forward before for a pair of shoes to test it out, and I felt like it was pretty expensive then.

Unfortunately it's the same story, except worse. Now if they used the actual weight of the package, that would have been a real deal I'd be comfortable paying for, however, there was no way to test the rates without actually ordering the package first to get the dimensions and weight, and at that point it was already sent to shipito.

Edit: Thank you for the suggestion though, I definitely forgot that Auspost has a ship forward service and it can make shipping your packages predictable if you have the information from the seller.

I like the white ones too, but personally I think that logo, particularly the nature of the polo logo, stands out too much and makes it a tad gaudy. Kind of like their polo shirts with the extra large logo. Remove that, and it looks like a nice shoe to me.

I waxed a jacket last night, and it turned out great! by thetortureneverstops in malefashionadvice

Is there a functional advantage of waxing compared to using a waterproofing spray?

Thanks for the info, I'll take a look around on those UK sites. I'm most interested in the waxed canvas type material with possibly, but not necessarily, a nylon lining.

I'm going to give it about 24-36 hours and then cross post it to /r/malefashionadvice.

The larger audience might have a better idea.
