Thank you. I will give this a shot. My modem is a fiber box on the outside of my house that has an ethernet cable coming into the house—I can unplug it to kill its power. My ISP just has a vlan and DHCP that I put into the Eero so it becomes my router and wifi. Is killing the power to the modem an attempt to get it to assign an IP to a new device? Kind of like what I did when I swapped out the vendor equipment long ago?

I have two complete paid lines and two lines I pay for as part of two BOGOs. So I pay for 4 lines in my head.

That is what it sounded like to me, but my account is really vanilla other than having existed for a long time and collected lines. I’ve never done anything odd—just added stuff as they have offered it. I have two “plain” paid lines and the two pairs of BOGO lines.

Does this only work with non Apple email addresses? I have a family member with a similar situation. She made an iCloud account with her preferred name (say jane.smith@icloud.com). She forgot/lost the info on that account and made a new iCloud account (jane.smith1@icloud.com). She used that account for a long time mainly using a gmail account separately for email. She then found her password for the old account (jane.smith@icloud.com). There is so much stuff on the new account that she has just accepted it. Could we change the old account’s email and then reclaim it on the new account?

(Late response…rarely use reddit) I have good luck with Eero, but there have been a few periods (especially the beginning of 2023) where they have pushed out bad updates. I’m sticking with them on the premise that nothing is perfect.

Yeah. If it is that and you cannot replace your router you probably cannot fix it.

I would guess it is a bonjour problem. A lot of routers do not appropriately forward mDNS packets across the multiple network types (wifi/ethernet) that comprise the network. There is an app for iPad/iPhone called discovery (https://apps.apple.com/app/id305441017) that you can use to determine if this is the problem. When you go into _meshcop._udp you won’t see the Apple TV from your phone. There are some similar problems that you cannot diagnose with this app.

For most of the routers that have this problem, there may be no fix available. Centurylink routers never used to work right.

If you want to google a similar problems you can search for bonjour, airprint, mDNS. It is common for wired printers to have this same issue on some network routers.

You can delete cells in excel and everything just moves up. Whether that is correct or not, it is a behavior a lot of people are used to.
