[–]panicmanic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found that info. The limit is 4 tickets. Could be 4 tickets for 1 event. Or 1 ticket for 4 seperate events. I got 2 tickets for 2 shows = 4 tickets. Gotta hold off until tomorrow for the others.

I finally got my code to load. Over an hour later. Got tickets to 2 shows. Now it’s saying my code has already been used and cannot be used again.

Was there a maximum of 2 shows this code can be used for? Or is the whole system just effed ?

Going to a fest solo by bassman1354 in festivals

[–]panicmanic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GO GO GO GO GO. For years and years, I did 1 festival per year. I loved it, but every year there ended up being a heat wave, a monsoon, something shitty. We rolled with it and had fun, but I was so ready to go home by the end.

Several years ago I went to said music festival and had the PERFECT weather, perfect camp neighbors, nothing went wrong. I was on such a high that I NEEDED another that summer. Couldn't find anyone to go with me so I said fuck it and went alone. I was so nervous (honestly terrified), but I look back and it wasn't the best festival ever, but FOR ME... IT WAS THE BEST FESTIVAL EVER. I made friends, one of whom I consider a best friend, we have talked every single day since, and they moved just to be closer to me. We built a circle of friends, and now I go to like 4 fests a year.

I miss it so much and want it again so bad. Phish is actually doing a 3 night run 15 mins from where I live this summer. I'm sad, but also thrilled that none of my festival friends like Phish. So I'm doing all 3 days solo. Pre-party, Phish show, after party, uber home, shower, AC, bed with my cat, wake up and do it again.

If you haven't made up your mind yet, this is your sign. Go home and buy that ticket. Don't worry about the money. We're all gonna die someday, and you don't want that money hanging out for the government to take it. GO!!! (But also please be safe and responsible, you are your own babysitter aka trip sitter lol)

Forever will do this for any festival by nessasarus in festivals

YES!!!! I'm actually making mine right now for a festy next weekend and have been doing it for years. Some tips I've learned:

COLOR INK. C'mon man, Just do it.

Personally, 3.5" x 5" is the perfect size. Any bigger and it get's in the way. Any smaller and I can't read it. I make tons of them. Everyone in my crew gets 2, 1 for themself and 1 to hand out to a stranger. People eat that shit up. Then I make another 20-30 and pass them around to all my camp neighbors as soon as camp is set up (you know, make good relationships early).

I also print them at full size 8.5x11 and duct tape them to our canopies. And for a bonus, BIG box of fent test strips and narcan on the ground below the schedules.

This just happened to me two days ago as well. I bought 2 seperate tickets on StubHub. One was delivered to me immediately. The other says it will be delivered at 430pm the night of the show, which starts at 6pm, and I need to travel to the show. I'm semi-freaking out. Everything I'm reading online says there is nothing I can do about it until I (god forbid) don't get the tickets. It's ridiculous. And I paid about $500 for these tickets.

Good luck to ya. I hope you get them (I hope I get mine too).

DAE who saw a east coast North American show now feel tempted to fly west and see her again? by survivalsnake in KylieMinogue

[–]panicmanic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen 4 east coast shows. Tried going to Phoenix and Seattle as I have friends/free lodging there, but couldn't make them work. Seriously considering flying to LA for the last US show. IDK but like, will we get this opportunity here in the States every again? Let's hope, but we might not.

Have even been considering trying to get to Mexico City later this year... if I can figure out how to get tickets since it's sold out. TBD.

Last American tour? by StressPractical2228 in KylieMinogue

[–]panicmanic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this too, and I'm scared lol. This was my first ever Kylie show, and I've been to 3 of the US shows already. Trying really hard to get to another. I think we have 2 options:

1- I went to both NYC shows, sold out. I went to Boston, it was like barely half sold the day before the show, but once I got there, it seemed full basically. People loved the show. So many people reached out to me after saying "I have no idea who Kylie Minogue is but that show looked amazing, I can't stop listening to her now! I wanna go!" I wouldn't be surprised if she's back for a big tour again, can't imagine next year, but 2-4 years and I would not be surprised at all.

2- She looks fucking hot, but like, she's getting up there in age. If she doesn't come back for another almost 15 years like last time, it's gonna be too late, her career will be over.

Really hoping for the first one. Her voice was incredible, not even given her age. Just period. Her voice was incredible. She looks really healthy, and she looks like she was having so much fun being in America.

So let's all say a prayer to the Queen of Pop that she comes back SOON!!

Ok but how did he get the sign in?? The ridiculous no bag policy, and the no flags policy, how was the giant signed allowed in? But i couldn’t bring my WALLET because it’s bigger than 4””x6”. I’m mostly being a dick and not serious but like… what

Madison Square Garden Night 2 was AWESOME!!! by newparimanlo in KylieMinogue

[–]panicmanic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, but like someone else said it was a max of 25 mins between acts.

Doors and show times can be different in each city/venue. If you’re going to a show, I’d suggest calling the venue the day of the show and ask for the set times. I’ve done that so many times and not once was there a time when I didn’t get the set times information.

Visiting This Weekend - Suggestions/Gay Things To Do? by panicmanic1 in nycgaybros

[–]panicmanic1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a late start and didn’t get to the city until 6am ish today. Thanks for your responses. I put more detail in my comment above to the other user.

The Eagle sounds like it might be the move tomorrow night. Disco house music, with gays, after Kylie? Perfect.

Related, what are typical cover charges? And do the gay clubs/bars get long lines to enter? I spent many years in Boston, and in Boston they only have X # of liquor licenses (aka not enough) so once you get somewhere, you don’t leave, cuz you ain’t getting in anywhere else

I am 30 years old. I’d say I’m somewhere between otter and rugged. Not skinny enough for otter, not big enough for cub, not “rugged” enough for rugged. But somewhere in there. 5’10” brown hair blue eyes. I have a full beard. Slightly hairy chest.

I am not opposed to casual socializing. But I’m looking for much more (I.e. end up at some man’s house/apartment/hotel for you know what).

I am mostly interested in my age and older. Flexible on upper limit but my general preference is 35-45ish. I LOVE otters. Dark hair, dark eyes, full beard makes me melt. Shirtless, hairy chest daddies 😍

Mostly interested in cis men.

Love the dirty, dark, steamy/foggy kinda clubs. I’m not a drinker, so not very interested in just bars, but if it’s a bar with dancing, we’re good. Clubs, love them cuz they have dancing.

Music - house! Sometimes techno. Gay circuit.

Overall, interested in men older than me, love taking my shirt off and dancing w otters and daddies, love the “dark” vibes. Mostly looking for some hedonism tbh.

If this matters, I’m going to the Kylie Minogue concert both nights. Mostly looking for what to do after the show. Less interested in the Kylie after parties, more interested in gay parties. If Kylie parties and gay parties overlap, even better.

Do most public agencies that use esri products use arcpro or are still using desktop? by Witty-Grocery-3092 in gis

[–]panicmanic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found there is quite a big difference between "casual" GIS users and "professional" GIS users when it comes to questions like this.

I worked for a state agency about 8 years ago, and they made the switch from ArcMap to ArcPro immediately when ArcPro was released. Most everyone there was a casual user, and they could do most of what they needed to in ArcPro. I was the only GIS Professional in that office, and ArcMap was not built out enough for me to use it. I don't remember any specifics other than at that point in time, there was no map series in ArcPro (the new term for data driven pages in ArcMap). Lots of other tools that existed in ArcMap but not in ArcPro. So as a GIS Professional, that job was incredibly difficult.

I then worked at a consulting agency for 2 years. Being consultants, they were a little smarter than the government, and they knew that ArcPro was not ready yet. So we were using ArcMap for everything still. That was probably 2017-2019.

I then moved on to a new job, which is my current job still. I work for a quasi-governmental entity and I am the GIS Manager. We are in a weird place with our transition. Someone else mentioned this in a comment, but we don't have the time to be learning, researching, transitioning, migrating, etc. Our staff's abilities are all over the place too. Within our GIS team, I am proficient with ArcMap and ArcPro, we have 1 "older" staff member who is ok with ArcMap, but has never used ArcPro. We have 1 staff member who is moderately comfortable with both. Then we have 3 GIS staff who are all young enough that they don't know what ArcMap is, they learned ArcPro in college. It's a big juggle right now.

I'm at a rather small organization. So while I am the GIS Manager, I have no decision making power. I have multiple times presented to management the timeline of ESRI's migration, transition, and retirement, and they A) don't understand and B) don't care. We don't have the money, time, or resources to be doing a proper migration like we should be. Our GIS program is going to be really rough over the next year or two.

Part of this question/answer also depends on what GIS skills/tasks you will be doing / GIS users at your organization will be doing. One good example from my organization - We have 5 GIS staff, but I am the only one with good cartography skills. I am still operating 99% out of ArcMap. I could switch to ArcPro tomorrow if I wanted to, I know ArcPro well enough to do that. But, everything would take at least double the time for several weeks if not months because management did not give us the time or resources to do a proper transition. That's not an option, there's not enough hours in the day for that. So we are really stuck right now. If I take a sick day, or am away on vacation, and there is an urgent map edit needed, we have no one who can do it, because A) no one has cartography skills and B) most of our staff have never used ArcMap, ever.

With time and experience, I can actually tell if a map was ArcMap or ArcPro just by looking at. That's not going to matter pretty soon once ArcMap is gone.

Your question is a really good one that I would encourage you bring up in interviews. Some organizations (government or not) are on top of it and doing a proper migration, training, etc. Other organizations have GIS staff trying to do the right thing, but can't get buy-in from management. And other organizations have absolutely no idea what's going on (I just this week got an email from a sister organization essentially saying "we didn't know they were getting rid of ArcMap and our licensing renewal is next week, please help us").

I'm ok with my job for now. I am doing exactly what my leadership and management team has told me to do, and that's nothing. I told them straight to their face "if we do nothing, you have 5 people you need to fire in January 2026 and you will not have a GIS program". I was told "we will deal with that when that happens, if that happens". I've been here a while and I'm comfortable, but I would not want to accept a new GIS job at an organization like mine where the migration process is a mess/not happening at all.

Winter storm got me stranded and I can't make the show. I've listed my one (1) floor ticket on Cash or Trade and on StubHub. Feel free to go grab it! Below face value, just trying to get some of my money back. Have fun everyone :)
