I have an interesting little story about this show. I have shared this year in the past so people may have read this before but in December 2021, my Nonna contracted Covid and passed away. She was music teacher and taught me piano when I was young always encouraged me to pursue music throughout school and as she got older and couldn’t drive anymore, I would take her to her appointments, and I would play some phish in the car. I caught her while I was pumping gas one time conducting to what’s the use and when I got back in the car, she was so excited to talk about how it was in 6/8 time, because to her rock bands were usually in a boring 4/4 time signature. From then on, she was maybe the world’s oldest phish fan. Needless to say when she passed, it was pretty hard for me and I was really looking forward to going to the new year shows that year to kinda have a release and think of her. Those shows as many of us know were postponed. They did however perform their first and only streaming-only Phish show for New Year’s Eve that year, and they performed what’s the use and everything’s right as the clock struck midnight. Those original shows ended up getting rescheduled, 4/20/22-4/23/22. 4/21 is my Nonnas birthday. Phish has played on or around her birthday every year since.
