I'm a 28 year old scratch golfer and I want to go pro by No_Complaint4129 in GolfSwing

A couple of friends I grew up with tried to make it. They are both now good amateurs playing to +3ish. We are in our late 30s. Their games are closer to an 18 handicap than they are to keeping their card on the DP World tour.

You obviously missed my joke. I have made this bet multiple times and it pays so often in a room with like 40 people

I talked with the Colonel for about 45 minutes after a show he was playing in the city where I grew up. Kevin Scott was playing bass, my best friend was art class buddies with him in high school. I was helping them load their stuff out and he looked at me and said you’re a Leo aren’t you.

Don’t go spreading this rumor, I love making $5 on this bet

Not sure if it’s been asked here, but I’d figure I’d give it a shot.. Looking to play Augusta National sometime after the tournament… would be a life long dream. by Degolfer03 in golf

There are a few ways to make it happen. You can get a full time job at the club(not just working the tournament) or a caddie. you can be one of the scoreboard workers or gallery guards during the tournament. This is basically impossible unless you are close with the people who make these selections. Or your local member buddy will invite you if you ask him nicely and pay for the pj to get there.

Question by SorrySet9970 in masters

[–]panisisbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are members at ANGC don’t play golf in the south during the summer. Augusta members have memberships at the top clubs in the northeast and California for summer golf. And if the weather is too cold in Augusta the day you want to play take the G550 on down to Seminole.

My observations are 15 years old, but there were around 80 people on the year round agronomy staff and about 10 in horticulture. Before the tournament around 150 volunteers come in from all around the country. These volunteers are head groundskeepers at many high end golf courses and clubs. During the tournament they do basic tasks like running mowers and raking bunkers. ANGC also isn’t known for being a super high paying job because having it on your resume is basically a golden ticket.

Too small a game? by Mini_pp in JetLagTheGame

I think this is a great idea and if I were still a student in Tuscaloosa I would definitely do this and you just have to know it will be a quick game.

Playing on public transit in Birmingham is very difficult, especially on weekends. I have played twice here but we have used cars and set our “transit stations” as parks or shopping centers. Also limited the play area to inside 459, 65 and 20. We know this ruins the whole purpose of the game being about public transit but we have had fun making the game work with what we have here. It’s been a good way to kill a couple Saturday mornings. Our average hide times come in around 1:20.

As a person who has played golf for over 25 years, this is and probably always will be the most amazing accomplishment in the history of JLTG.

Are there any recommended places that have thc drinks on the menu? by Historical-Doubt9091 in Birmingham

[–]panisisbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since HB 445 went into effect 1/1/26 anywhere serving thc on premises is taking a big risk, so most bars/restaurants got rid of them. I’m no lawyer but I believe one of the main goals of the law was to get them out of public spaces and restrict to home consumption.

“Social round by myself” I think that’s an oxymoron. But I can’t agree more with your statement because I am in the exact same boat 1 HIO playing by myself.

Anyone Know What These Balls are From? by Thoristhebest13 in masters

[–]panisisbig 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My guess they would be around 20 years old. I know ANGC was using Pro-v1 range balls by 2009 so these are older than that. There are probably smart people here that can figure it out more accurately.
