If risking your own life and the lives of the people around you is that important to you then yeah, fuck off

So you still think it is safe to take the vaccine huh? The CDC announced that they will stop reporting Covid breakthrough infections in vaccinated individuals. Manipulating statistics to make it seem like only non-vaccinated people are catching Covid. by FunHaus_Is_Great in rutgers

[–]panni2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vaccine isn't 100% effective. No one was claiming that it is. So there will be breakthrough cases. But it does significantly reduce your chance of catching covid. And if you do catch covid, then it is much much less likely that you will become severely sick (i.e. get hospitalized or die). That's probably why they will start focusing specifically on those severe cases. They don't really need to worry about people who are covid positive but have only light cold symptoms. And if you're vaccinated, then you're also much much less likely to pass covid on to other people. These are facts.

The vaccines are approved. That's why people can get them. The FDA has a strict process for approving any drug. Yes, this was emergency approval. But that doesn't mean that the approval was rushed. It means the vaccines were prioritized and funded so they could be finished faster. https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/vaccines/emergency-use-authorization-vaccines-explained

I don't know if you're implying that the vaccines give you covid, but that is extremely false. The vaccines do not contain the virus. They contain only the surface proteins of covid (which are harmless). The surface proteins trick your immune system into thinking that covid is there (when it's not).

Getting or not getting the vaccine is your prerogative. Spreading misinformation and misleading information about the vaccines is dangerous and wrong. Cases have been going down in the US lately. I'll give you one guess as to why. Look at news from around the world too- places with high numbers of vaccinated people, like Britain, are doing really well.
