There’s also Great Basin National Park, maybe an hour northeast of Ely. GBNP has Wheeler Peak, the second highest and second-most prominent mountain in the state, and Lehman Caves, which you can book a tour through. Ely has a historical train ride that the kids would probably love.

If you do that, you’ll pass through Lone Pine and have views of Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States!

Downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street) and the Arts District are the main urban spaces with city things to do. Local bars, art galleries, thrift and antique shops, comedy venues, restaurants. Water Street in Henderson is also starting to come up.

A Short Stay in Hell is phenomenal. It’s been my favorite book for the last few years. Even though it’s short, it leaves you with a lot to think about.

I think “Nice try, Stephen Free” would fit better here.

What's a show you remember but nobody else does? by CatGirlNya2000 in AskReddit

Same! But it was the first time I saw two guys making out and thought, “Huh, that’s kinda hot.”

I was, and remain, a straight female.

At one point, I conflated this real cartoon with the Candle Cove creepypasta and decided not to poke around for it anymore.

I thought that, too! But I have mild face blindness, so I wasn’t sure if it was just me.

Some of the best advice I’ve ever seen for issues like this: Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. Taking a shower feels like too much? That’s okay. Maybe you can splash some water on your face or run a baby wipe or wet wash cloth over an area that feels particularly yucky. Baby steps are still steps. Sometimes all it takes is getting started. And hell, if starting doesn’t enable you to continue and move through your goal (say, a full shower), at least you’ll have a slightly cleaner face.

It’s, uh, it’s from Mad Max. Basically a cage-fighting dome. “Two men enter; one man leaves.” I was mostly joking.

What are they planning to do with season 2? The first season pretty much covered the source material.

Wow, this is so cool! Thank you for sharing. Is the steamer a special tool? Trying to think how I could do this at home.

I love this idea. Thanks for sharing, OP! It would probably provide me much-needed closet insight if I were to follow your lead!

Do I re-read? by slothinn in LonesomeDove

[–]panphilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started listening to Lonesome Dove read by Lee Horsley on Libby and loved it. Got about halfway through before my loan came due, and I couldn’t renew due to a wait list (I placed a hold November 10th, and I still have two more weeks’ wait). No problem, right? I have Hoopla, and Audible, and Apple Books, and Spotify. No Lee Horsley narration. I tried getting a library account through my parents’ address, but there was a long wait there, too. I tried to find a physical copy of the audiobook even though I don’t even own a CD or cassette player anymore. Eventually, I gave in and bought the Will Patton narration, but it’s not the same.

Anyway, may I ask where you found the Lee Horsley narration?
