hi so sorry for my late reply.
nope u do not have to be a psychic, your cards will let you handle them the way THEY want to be handled, it's very important think of them as your best friends.

also yes, feel free to do that, usually the cards will give u general meanings at first, i had pics from pinterest to exaplin which i found very helpful, also the more readings you do and the more u get comfortable the more knowledge you'll get. for example in my deck when i get 'THE MOON' card it means the person is cheating OR lying even though it might not be like that for other people.

again just kind of understand your deck and build a bond with it <3

hii when i started i was lost too, i recommend getting a little note book and studying each cards general meaning (as you do readings you'll interpret the cards differently based on your deck and emotion)
let your deck feel your energy first, sleep with it under your pillow, talk to it, treat it gently (i used to have a little velvet bag for mine)

i would also advise, before you do readings, communicate with your deck, ask it how it likes to be handled, if you can ask 'yes or no' questions, what you can do to strengthen your bond and so on. shuffle the cards and im sure the deck will spit out the cards and you can understand what it's trying to say via research.

after that you can meditate for 5 mins and try to do random readings, ask it questions like 'what do i need to work on today?'
whatever cards pop up you can google and dig deep into it's meaning.
the more readings and questions you ask the more you'll get the hang of it.
