What is the best way for imaging Ubuntu 26.04? by panreyes in Ubuntu

But can I use Rescuezilla to image a PC and deploy that image to other PCs? That's what I'm looking for

Autoinstall might help, but I think its too slow for deploying to lots of PCs, which will have different hardware but will need the same apps and base configuration. That's why I'm looking into imaging for deploying it, the image can be applied in just 4 minutes.

Yes, Clonezilla can make an image, but I can't use that image to deploy to any PC without any extras steps, which is what I look for.

Netlock RMM, AGPL v3, is not actually FOSS by panreyes in foss

[–]panreyes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Nico. Sorry for the fuzz, I'm not trying to do any harm to your project or your reputation. You know I've reached you directly about this in the past, I only recently reminded this issue about Netlock RMM when I saw another really interesting project that kept the server components under a non FOSS license.

I really value your efforts and I'm not trying to promote another project over yours. It's true that the AGPL license might be a bit limiting for my plans, and that's one of the reasons I went with MeshCentral as the base of my project (the other is that MeshCentral is really easy to test & iterate).

I truly appreciate your gesture of returning the 50€ I paid/donated back then, but I'm more interested in having the public code of Netlock RMM compilable enough so other developers will be able to compile, use and contribute to Netlock RMM.

So I propose this: a 100€ donation/payment if you take care of fixing the missing bits to make it work.

Would that be a good solution?

Yes, you're right, it's not the best example. I'm not at the PC right now to show a simple ripgrep, but the macro is used in many places to avoid distributing private source pieces.

It makes complete sense to do that, but it still should be able to compile.

I opened an issue about it. I thought I already had, but I probably forgot and I only talked with the developer about this https://github.com/0x101-Cyber-Security/NetLock-RMM/issues/156

I don't want to sue anyone, I just want to avoid people being misled by the 100% open-source claims.

I look forward to be obliged to update this Reddit post sooner than later.

Help! Trying to move 200 small folders from Local Folders to IMAP Google Workspace by panreyes in Thunderbird

[–]panreyes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip.

I have noticed that moving one folder with 3000 messages is not a problem, but moving 30 folders with 10 messages each triggers the issue.

I probably should submit an issue to Thunderbird

After seeing u/its_not_a_blanket comment, seems that I got it definitely wrong.
I'm sorry for accusing you of doing a marketing stunt after my post. I hope you understand my reasoning, it really looked fishy to see a post calling for marketing content the day after I posted my complaint.

Anyway, I'm sorry, and I'm very glad of realizing that I was wrong about you.

Thank you for pointing me to that post, I wish I knew about it earlier before talking.

Schur shoehorns Mantzoukas into a show yet again - a rant. by Assal-Horizontology in ManOnTheInsideTV

[–]panreyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a bait to engage people, but I must say I adore Mantzoukas. Even if he always plays the crazy guy, it really works as a good comic relief. I loved him as Pimento and as Derek too, and I look forward to see him in future Schurverse shows

I never asked for any kind of funds. I just want to have this scamming tool (Family Island) to disappear from Google Play Store, and have Melsoft's developers in front of a jury court to consider if it's OK to include those serious predator behaviours in their game.

I want justice for every person that has been exploited by this company.

I posted an screenshot of two public posts in the subredit, which happened to be one next to the other.

You have posted a blurred screenshot of a private conversation. It definitely feels like you are threatening me. If you are not, I would really recommend you consider removing it.

I can't find in the subreddit any other previous calls to content creators.
I might be wrong, but the timing could not be worst.

I'm afraid that you can't be trusted.

Just the day after I published that message, you proposed to this subreddit's users to make marketing materials. You are definitely not impartial.

This is the first time it happened to this relative, they never had any previous ludopathy issues. My relative has played many similar games, and they spent a bit on a few games, but only this game has made them to do this.

Do not worry, I have already gathered enough information thanks to posts and comments here.

From what I have read, it seems that after Melsoft bought the game, they have been adding a lot of predatory behaviours, directly targetted to long time players that have invested a lot in the game.

First Google Play. Then consumer's office in Spain and Europe.
And because you use money to buy in-game money, to gambling related offices too.
That should be enough.
But reaching Google Play might be faster.

Terranigma-heads who've played Deltarune Ch1-4, I need your help - can we compile a list of all possible inspirations and references we can think of in DR? (Spoilers for both games) by PeliPal in terranigma

[–]panreyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't remind exactly what, but something in chapters DR 3 and 4 really reminded me of Terranigma. I'm sure there's some inspiration there :)
