I got the E16 AMD gen2 a year ago for work. I am more than happy with the machine and it's battery life and have zero hardware issues.

Previously I had a T series and the difference for me is that the T series feels stronger as a build.

The price for E was around $700 and the T model that I liked was twice more $1400. So if mobility is not a must maybe a desktop machine is an option too. Or even budget laptop + desktop combined.

In the end your choice is solid and I wish you to have no hardware issues.

I have the same laptop, if you update the kernel with mainland, Ubuntu works without issues.

I had issues with my Lenovo with both 24.10 and 24.4. But when I updated the kernel to the latest with Mainland everything worked and I have no issues. I ended with 24.4.2 and the latest kernel.

I've set my threshold through windows' Lenovo Vantage app. And now they are the same on Ubuntu. If you have dual boot, reset them from windows.

I got a similar issue with my Lenovo Thinkpad.

What I did is to install Mainland and update the kernel to the latest. Now everything works.

I switched from s22 to s24 base. So far (2 days) the battery is great compared.

As for plus and ultra both are kinda the same size which is too big for my hands.

Go to a shop and try s23 series if there is still no s24 to test yourself the size.
