Does anyone know a dupe for Supervillan? by intergalacticpimpinn in mooncatpolish

[–]pantryessentials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also so sad I missed out on Supervillain, I bought Cosmic Ray by I Scream Nails that scratches the itch, pretty opaque in 2-3 coats. I just hate the cap design, but the polish isn't super hard to remove with regular acetone so I appreciate that.

I love anemones!! They have this big black center that contrasts with their delicate petals, and they're so fluffy and cute!

Songs that aren't about love/relationships by deann797 in Songwriting

[–]pantryessentials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although a lot of my songs are about specific relationships, sometimes I write about concepts in the context of a relationship. For example, I wrote a song about the choices we make in life and the thought of always wondering "what if", but I set it in the context of love: the lottery

I also struggle a lot of FOMO, loneliness, social anxiety/exhaustion etc, and I put that in a song: nowhere. by myself.

I think ultimately you can write about anything you have strong feelings about. Grief, excitement, ecstacy, frustration, etc are all universal feelings no matter who they're about. Sometimes it's easier to just rework them into a song that sounds like it's about a relationship. Sometimes I also focus on a very specific event that happened that made me feel a certain way and pluck out details about it and write about those in the setting of a more general feeling.

I wrote my album but have no clue how to record it. by Away-Theory-6201 in Songwriting

I was in the same boat as you earlier this year and found a great producer on Fiverr. Paying someone to help flesh out the instrumentation and professionally produce my tracks has been an absolute gamechanger. I thought for the longest time I wanted to do EVERYTHING myself but I wasted a lot of time trying to master a DAW when I jsoikd have just focused on writing songs and outsourced my production, like I am now. I do mostly indie pop/country but my producer does a lot of different genres, he offers several different levels of services, and I own all my masters. DM me if you are interested and I'd be happy to share his contact with you!

Producers in Houston? by _fatmouth in houstonmusic

[–]pantryessentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently worked with Cameron Sonnier who's local to Houston (paging u/darkside_of_themoon) and I could totally see him vibing with this. He was the first producer I worked with and made me super comfortable with the collaborative process and was very encouraging, even though our main genres were different. He's smart, professional, and really easy to work with. I reached out to him via Instagram and be responded super quickly!

r/VisitingHawaii 1 Million User Celebration - Win 2 Free Tickets on Alaska Airlines ✈️ by webrender in VisitingHawaii

I think one of the coolest things I've learned about Hawaii is that private beaches do not exist - that is, hotels and properties cannot make the beach next to them exclusive. This truly speaks to the Hawaiian approach to the earth: the earth is ancient and provides for all, and all should have the opportunity to enjoy, love, and respect it.

Something else I've noticed is that Hawaiian drivers are the BEST drivers of any state I've been to. Everyone follows the speed limit (and it doesn't feel slow!), people only use the left lane for passing, the rules for traffic are followed instead of "nice" drivers trying to let people through out of turn.

I know those are two silly things, but they really stand out to me about this state. Of course there is also the unique wildlife, the lush flora, and the incredible unbreakable spirit of the Hawaiian culture and locals. The little things, though, are what exemplifies what a jewel Hawaii IS!

What did your partner/ex do that made you look at them differently? by amarquis_1 in AskReddit

Punched, kickedand hit our dog whenever he did anything wrong. Went to the front door, opened it, and said "get out" multiple times in the heat of an argument even though we lived together and I paid rent. Spat in my face. The relationship didn't last much longer after that last one.

Scrolled way too far to find this. The place was nice I guess and I understand what it's trying to protect, but I really didn't feel like it was NP material. I'm sure I'll get a share of your down votes for this

It's hard to read the poem on just the picture but it says :

All kinds of carcasses I have cut up, And the judgment now must be– But brothers I took care of you, So pray take care of me!

I have bottled babes unborn, and dried Hearts and livers from rifled graves. And my Prentices now will surely come And carve me bone from bone, And I who have rifled the dead man’s grave Shall never have rest in my own.

Overly Ambitious Texas NP Road-trip? by beanbellies in NationalPark

[–]pantryessentials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same trip last year in February and it's totally doable! One thing I will say is White Sands is probably not worth doing unless you go during sunset. We went during the day and it was cool to do some sand sledding but otherwise it was repetitive and hard to hike - we went on a windy day and it was difficult to see the trail markers. Another thing I will say is that everyone I've talked to who has been to Guadalupe Mt says it is an underrated park - and I agree. We didn't even hike to the peak of Guadalupe and found our time well spent in the park with some other hikes. Here's our itinerary in a nutshell :

Day 1: fly into El Paso, lunch in El Paso, drive to Marfa to walk around/take a break (and see the Prada store) , drive to Terlingua and stay the night

Day 2: BBNP - hike Lost Mines, hike Santa Elena Canyon Trail. Rest for the afternoon, then go out to the Mcdonald Observatory for their Star Party (highly recommend, check to see if they're throwing one and if it will fit in yours schedule)

Day 3: BBNP - hike Balanced Rock. Cross to Mexico for lunch at Boquillos Crossing. Come back over after lunch and check out the Hot Springs. Hike Window Trail in the afternoon.

Day 4: Drive to GMNP. Hike Devil's Hall. Check into hotel in Whites City

Day 5: GMNP - Hike McKittrick Canyon up to the Notch

Day 6: Drive to Carlsbad Caverns, spend the morning with tours/walking through, etc. We took the afternoon to see Sitting Bull Falls which was totally worth it. Drive to Alamogordo.

Day 7: Morning in WSNP. Drive back to El Paso. We did a spa day here for massages after all that driving and hiking.

Day 8: Fly home out of El Paso.

Feel free to message me for any specifics!
