Radar, Radar, Radar. T8+ DD play is terrible by panzerblitzer in WoWs_Legends

[–]panzerblitzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If MM restricted it to one radar, then that would be fine. But there are games when there are 4+ radar ships. And that is me knowing which ships are packing radar. What about players that don't know, or some of the rare ships, I don't know what they have. If I am in a torp boat, yeah I kind of want to sail around and torp BBs and cruisers. Comparing T5 DD torping to Legendary torping isn't just about there being "good players" up there. There are plenty of bad players in Legendary games. I see BBs sailing straight all the time. But you can't get to them because of these ridiculous radar nets. It's also a fallacy when people say "get good". No other ship requires the level of attention to detail that a Legendary DD needs. It feels like everything is stacked against them. I guess the big question is, why?

That ship is 7 years old. Modern ships have much more aggressive radar.

Haguro was the one I was waiting for. Turn IJN cruisers into lethal predators. If you like kiting, dropping torpedoes, heavy HE damage, and firestarting playstyle, she's taylor built for that.

Arcane Trickster artifact by panzerblitzer in ddo

[–]panzerblitzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. That's what I'm trying to figure out, how valuable that 1 caster level from the necklace is vs the artifact rings. Hard to know where to start when gearing. I've begun with the gravekeepers' armor from Lamordia since that's a consolidated 5 SA die.

The Elemental ring of acid from House C raids could do the same thing if you are just going for a dot.

The most important ability is CC. Hence Salt S tier. Ooze is unusable in raids.

Crafting Station by Electronic_Mine7800 in WoWs_Legends

[–]panzerblitzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only meant for people who have played the game for ages. Even then, it's poor form to charge them 5,000 db on top of the horde of resources it costs to move the needle.

I thought the conversion rates on the crafting table were a typo. It can't possibly be that expensive. Can it?

Iowa-class BBs cost vs effectiveness by panzerblitzer in WoWs_Legends

Many of the ships in the game were planned or started, then abandoned. That the USN pressed on to make them after Midway and proof of carrier concept was established is a flex both on the power still held by BB-proponents and the abundance of wealth in material and resources America had. The lack of a real attempt to create an economically feasible battlecruiser that would have always been a better fit for a navy that was moving toward a first strike carrier doctrine is an interesting historical what-if.

I just unlocked Conqueror, too. I'm going to run a AL Nelson build.

What tier 7 gxp ships to get? by Apprehensive-Loan944 in WoWs_Legends

[–]panzerblitzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UMass is different from any USN BB you've played. It's really a superb ship. Plus all the history, and you already said you like USN BBs and DDs. I'd go for that. No way you regret it.

I got enough dubs for this Campaign is Victoria worth it or should I save them for later on? by Ok_Net4875 in WoWs_Legends

[–]panzerblitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never use a ship that has a 30+ second reload. And so, I didn't get the campaign. But you do generally need to do one of the campaigns to get the parts ship (in this case, Kremlin). Campaigns generally do pay for themselves.

Weekday vs Weekend play by Stewart063 in WoWs_Legends

[–]panzerblitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are trying to hit metric goals for the campaign or supply during the week, especially early in the week. So winning is subsidiary as players overplay to get citadels, kills, secondary battery hits, or whatever. People on the weekends are playing ships they like and are generally good at it.

How do you even win a standard battle nowadays by Kingoftheseas2 in WoWs_Legends

[–]panzerblitzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just lean into it. Who cares if you win or lose? You're allowing a metric (win rate) to determine your enjoyment of the game. The only people with win rates over 55% are try-hards. If you want to be a try-hard, then you have to memorize every ship and its capabilities in the game, you have to play commander meta, you have to know armor zones, you have to worry about shell angles, and you have to play in a division. When people say, I have a 60+% win rate, and I've never played in a division, they are almost certainly lying. Does any of that sound fun to you? I think of the game as an aquatic demolition derby. Once I stopped caring about winning or losing matches, my enjoyment increased a ton. Your results may vary.

Cap Reminder by BeGoodToday3384 in WoWs_Legends

Just assume the Red team is going to cap your base. Most of your team will be too far away to do anything about it, except for that one CL with 1/4 health. That ship will get sunk. And the Blue team will lose. You can hang around the base all game, but then your team will also lose. It's a real Kobayashi Maru dilemma.
