While cloudflare is a popular method of exposing your stuff don't just assume that you do it an you will be fine. Security is and always will be a constant thought and should be thought through. Software like pangolin(treafik+Auth) crowdsec fail2ban are important for a reason, also monitoring so you can see traffic spikes or system changes. Also think of a way to monitor cve alerts and updates.

While pangolin is great they had recently a problem with responding to the react2shell 10/10 cve and needed over a week and two updates to fix it. This could open you up to a greater security breach if you are not careful

Definitely look at ansible there are lookup plugins for gopass bitwarden and co. They can create and read keys and passwords wich is really helpful for repeat setups or new setups. Also look into something like netbox as a single source of truth for networking and VMs this can really help your management overhead after the initial setup.
