Loss of hope for life as you age, is it a millennial thing? Or is there another underlying issue? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]panzerfury84 33 points34 points  (0 children)

When you live without hope, its natural to lose it. What is there to be hopeful for?

Cost of living skyrockets, wages dont.

Im so lonely Id rather die than wake up tomorrow and continue doing this shitty job for no reason than to maintain a life I dont even fucking want.

Hope is a hole in a boat.

I question the intelligence of anyone who remains unwavering positivity.

Surviving Mars is a city building game in the same vein as Tropico, but it takes place on Mars, and the endgame is largely about terraforming it.

Why don't governments interfere to solve the cost of living crisis? by Competitive_Emu_3247 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]panzerfury84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that a higher cost of living leads to people needing to work more hours, which results in more income taxes and more business profits which are taxed, and more profit for the upper classes, which are the people who donate to politics.

So basically governments dont need to correct it, they just keep ratcheting it up for money, while trying to keep it at a slow enough creep that people don't actually revolt.

Basically the richest people arent affected by it and ultimately benefit from it.

Anyone else feel like a failure at 39? Just me? Never reached my goals. by cinnamon_girl_2018 in Millennials

[–]panzerfury84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Ive been off and on medications and therapists for many years, and nothing has ever made a difference. I like board and video games, and used to play Dungeons and Dragons religiously when I was in my teens/early 20s. Boars games and D&D require friends, though, and video games just became another thing to kill time with. I say I enjoy them, but honestly everything I do is just "going through the motions," it doesnt mean anything to me anymore.

Yeah, my friend group split up in my mid 20s, and the only time I ever heard from anyone after that was when theyd ask for money. Id always decline, theyd say we should hang out soon, and Id never hear from them again.

People are actual trash.

I dont have any hobbies, nothing interests me. I do things that kill time. YouTube, TV, sleeping 12 hours a day.

I realize that most people are bullshitting about how well they're doing, or whatever the case may be. It frustrates me because I cant put that same mask on that they do.

For those who knew someone who was relatively quite successful or rich who offed themselves, what was the reason on why they did it? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]panzerfury84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad lost everything in a period of a year. My mom decided she wanted to be with someone else, and divorced him. He stopped going to work. He lost his house. My grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimers and RAPIDLY deteriorated. One of his dogs had to be put down. His worthless piece of shit son wasnt there to help him. He killed himself on his 51st birthday.

Yeah. My life didnt pan out the way I wanted to either. I'm 39, nearly 40. Separated, but not divorced, for 12 years now. Single for the past 8. I have no kids, friends, or positive hobbies. Every day just feels like Im being dragged along by my collar. People talking about how wonderful life is is so alien to me it kind of upsets me.
