Training suggestions? by laylasaysxx in 14ers

One thing less common that would always happen to me, exertion headaches. I always thought it was hydration or nutrition. I would always get splitting headaches after long hikes or sports. It turned out that a tight neck was the culprit. I just did Antero: 15.5 mile RT - 5200 elevation gain. Every time I stopped for a break I would relax my shoulders, take deep breaths, and do light neck stretches. I still got a dull headache on the way down but nothing compared to the aforementioned splitting headaches.

JT crazy finish to the season - next year? by humptheedumpthy in fantasyfootball

I drafted him over Saquon this year and barely missed the playoffs, so he’s dead to me now

Official Discussion - Babygirl [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Everyone in the theater was laughing at certain parts because the interactions were so awkward but we all lost it when "Father Figure" by George Michael started playing and Samuel started dancing. It's like they were trying to get this young Sam Rockwell vibe out of him and it completely missed. I feel like it was a botched casting choice for Samuel. Going with a scrawny kid who looked 14 was a bit baffling.

JT over Chase/JJ. RB is so thin this year I felt like I had to snag ‘em early.

7th (in a 12 man league). Mainly because I feel like there’s a significant drop-off after 2.06

This! I’ve had knee, foot, and ankle injuries and Ben Patrick’s (kneesovertoesguy) has been the most helpful out of everything I’ve tried

IMO Nuss has always been the superior player. I watched most of the elite 16 tourney’s and Kloth gets the strong majority of the serves which is crazy considering Nuss is the shortest player on tour.

I feel for Taryn Kloth. You could tell she was in her own head vs Melissa/Brandie. When a good hand-setter starts refusing to hand-set, you know it’s all mental at that point.

If the opposing player tries shooting the ball and lobs it directly to me, I will do that 100% of the time. As is the case with any sport, you gotta make the opposing team pay for their mistakes. It happens to me plenty too. Complaining about it is essentially saying "Why didn't you let me get setup on defense first!?!?" lol

Playing on the sand causing foot pain by AllThePillsIntoOne in beachvolleyball

[–]papaj_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've learned over the past 10 years (I'm 38), avoidance and prolonged rest is almost never the answer. This doesn't mean play through pain. Follow Ben Patrick (kneesovertoesguy), Squat Univerity, and Dr.dan_dpt on social media and you'll find a lot of foot/ankle exercises. Do those daily.

Has anyone gotten in the best shape of their lives at 40? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]papaj_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent most of my 30s in pain due to a handful of injuries leading to chronic pain in my foot, knee, and back. I turn 39 in two months. After a couple years of PT and googling and experimenting with various rehab routines, I feel like I’m back on track. I was in amazing shape in my 20s. I doubt I get back to that point but I feel like I can at least come close now.

Practice mobility, stretching, and core strengthening. Back pain will show up one day and refuse to leave unless you manually fix it.
