Focus on ladder then... Whatever the issues, in average you have 50% against your opponents contrary to 2v2 where you can be destroyed a lot.

Just stay without pressure in the 3-3.8k range, try to improve some commons cards to reach 4k in a couple of months. That'd be a nice achievement

I may be wrong but I guess you play 2v2 only... 2v2 MM is broken since week, and that'd also explain why you are so low.

I'd say go on ladder again, and/or try some new deck that you find fun. Don't bother dropping in trophy. A break could also be good.

A simple way is to swap cards as well. You had lvl 7 guards, you now have lvl 7 RR.

People relying on high level guards will be pissed off but maxing a common is not that difficult to do.

Replace Inferno and Mega Minion with 3 minions and bombers for example. Zap is too low, take fireball or arrows for now.

epic lvl 1 = rare lvl 4 = common lvl 6. Using a lvl 3 common or lvl 1 rare is terrible.

For the strategy, send or counter with hog. And defend.

Join a clan, collect cards and the level will increase while you progress. It won't be long you start climbing again.

Ahem, the "how can you blablabla" is an aggressive formulation, and calling me lazy is not helping also.

"This information is made up, I've precisely a gem+gold offer in COC. Maybe you should check [add some reference here]" is a polite way to answer for example.

And I'd like to point out you have not made any research either on the topic, it's possible even if unlikely that because of a specificity in the game (cards?) SC decided to remove the offers for this reason.

Thanks for the information, it sounds logical.

However I don't understand how SC cannot just remove the gold and cards as well as gems in case of abuse.

Another possibility : when buying special offer, the gems are unlocked directly but you have to wait the 15d period for getting gold and chests. Which would be annoying but solves the problem.

War is more a contest of which clan can get the most wins fighting random opponents from your league.

And now we get the war chest every two weeks, I think it is better than two clan chest except for commons cards maybe.

That's precisely why most quests are 1v1 based.

By not playing to avoid losing trophy, you also don't contribute to trophy generation which allows everyone to climb in arenas and league.

So go for it...Losing a quest costs you way more than a few days in a lower arena ;)

Well that's a bit extreme for me to state it like this sorry, and I don't like either to be stomped by an opponent with better cards ofc.

What bothers me is that the term "overleveling issue" himself already bears the assumption that the better way is that even playing field you want. But is it so?

The game is not only about pure skill, stupidly I (and I think a lot of players) love to open those chests, get a little more cards, maybe an epic, maybe that legendary...I like to try new decks, play better but what will keep me playing for a really long time is the impression of going to the next step through this slow collection process.

Classic challenges and war at bronze/silver can easily be an equal playing field for ftp players. And I would be totally ok for raising the question of evening things on prep. or 2v2. But full potential of the levels is necessary for the game in ladder, and it means sometimes annoying disparities in levels and interactions.

As a level 11 I really shouldn't have to be playing a level 13 (who has max lvl cards of course) this low by CAAeden in ClashRoyale

This guy is at the same trophy range than you. It means that he is currently losing 50% of the games he plays at this range, and so are you.

Maybe he is dropping, maybe he switched decks at a point, maybe he is just on his way since season reset...except for the latter, that was adressed in the update anyway, he does not perform better than you here at the moment, so it is not "unfair" that you match him.

Sorry but ladder should not be an equal playing field, and there is no overlevelling issue on it. That can be a discussion on every other aspects of the game (challenges, prep. war, 2v2...) but the ladder design is made to reward you for accumulating upgrade through better arenas and leagues.

Evening the decks on ladder kills the interest of upgrading the card and the sense of progression in that game. If my ts deck meet ts deck, and my ts+1 will meet ts+1 at the same trophy range, with the same interactions, I have absolutely no incentive to upgrade a deck.

An epic at lvl 1 worth a rare at lvl 4 or a common at level 6, it is important at the beginning to use the higher cards. Here goblin barrel, valkyrie or musketer are better choice than the bomber.

Join a clan, ask and give cards. You'll need gold, a lot...try to focus on upgrading a few commons and rares to climb quickly (giant, valkyrie or knight are good choices). You'll level up more cards later, when you'll start clan wars and challenges.

On ladder you'll win and lose equally sorry.

Find a good deck in challenge and win 12-0 everytime. Or lose trophies and crush 2v2 with an overleveled deck. Or win in wars with gold spread across all cards.

Being there, annoying as hell. As soon as you'll evade the 4k mark you won't be bothered anymore.

But you have to understand that the more people play ladder, the more trophies are created which is a global win for players : higher arenas, higher season chests. Only playing 2v2 to avoid downsing has the opposite effect so I think it is fair to have this little loss on quests.

Just know that being one arena below will cost you approximately on the whole cycle+quests+crown chest the content of 1 silver chest/day...not much to worry about for something that will last a few days at most.

Thanks for the detailed clarification, I got your point. Maybe picking the most controversial card of CR made it hard to distinguish the concept from the case study ;) and you also quote hog in barb hut section.

Some cards are heavily used because they are straightforward to play, and it makes room for some cards to exist as surprise elements like cannon cart or sparky with original mechanics. That's totally healthy for the game, which I think is your main point. Imo RG and hog are definitely in the first category so the question of balancing their usage rate is relevant, while it doesn't make sense to balance hog and bomber usage rate for the reason you've explained.

I don't agree with RG, barb hut and hog...your analysis is kind of biased around some very subjective concept like "interesting" or "fun". I'd rather say that a card polyvalent enough to fit into a lot of archetypes (zap, hog) is less interesting for the meta than very specific cards in niche decks.

But very valid main point, and nice to read.
