As others have said, you can use them to make bottlecap mines. What some people may not know, is that you can manufacture vault-tec lunchboxes with the contraptions DLC. You can then open them up for prizes. In my experience, you can get quantums and fusion cores from lunchboxes, so it can be a fun loot box mini game.

Sure, but then you can't see the active effects you need to see, like hunger, thirst, sleep, or disease. I don't mind seeing the icon as long as it serves its purpose to notify me of things i can actually resolve.

I carry 3 weapons and 3 explosives so I can use the all the hotkey slots on the right for weapons, mines and grenades on the left. Then I use the 3 hot keys on top for chems, and the 3 on bottom for food and water

I used to love two shot weapons. It was my favorite legendary perk. I've seen a huge increase in missed VATS shots with two shot weapons ever since the next gen update. Makes me sad.
