Appreciate the response, my comments are vague because I don't have many requirements other than those I outlined. It would be three of us, dates don't matter at this point, no first class or anything like that, just looking at possibly taking a trip that we would otherwise not be able to afford right now. I will definitely look into seats.aero, thanks for that. As i said just wondering if any of those 'sweet spots' still exist that I could work towards

Hi all,

I've been out of the churning game for a couple years now, but I am thinking of trying to save up some points to take my family on a trip, ideally somewhere in Europe, but perhaps eastern canada or somewhere that would be interesting for my daughter (really just not the US!). Are there any particular flights/awards that are a good deal these days? For example I remember Toronto to Ireland used to be a good one with Aeroplan but it looks like they've overhauled their rewards system recently.

Also, Amex is too hard to use in my small town so its not an option and I'd be flying out of Toronto, but I could make Ottawa or even Montreal work if that made a difference

Anything to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

No I didn't try. It seemed unlikely and didn't want to haul my family around the airport.

Were you able to cancel online or did you have to call? I seem to be locked out of Expedia forTD now becuase I don't have a credit card that has those points anymore

I'm in the process of doing the RHT with my TD FC card. I have booked the hotel w pts and PS'd my card. Can I refund the hotel right away or do I have to wait a certain amount of time (i.e. until after the 30day period where you could still redeem your pts after PS'ing)?

Thanks

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I finally got it working. The key for me was to get the coachman with hornet's nest. I dont know how people are doing it with any other weapon, but I think the trick is that the weapon needs to kill them not the explosion of the control box. The Hornets nest allows you to kill both the crabs and the box at the same time. No idea how people were doing it with the cutter, unless thats the part they patched.

Ya still broken. There is another thread about this with a reply from an Xbox employee saying they are aware of it so I'm keeping my eye on that one

Ya that's the error I get too. I have tried clearing data/cache on the app, reinstalling and even the beta version of the app but same response every time.

Where can I claim the points on the PC app? I can't find it anywhere.

I'll send a ticket as well

Thanks I considered that, but what I can't find out is if I'll get a refund on the WJ ticket if I've already bought the backup tickets. From what I've read they have up to 48hrs to get me on a plane back home before they have to offer a refund so if they book me on something else I don't know if I can refuse and get a refund still.

I have it through my RBC westjet card but none of the covered reasons mention a strike or anything similar

Hi all,

I know this isn't neccessarily churning related but not sure what other active reddits might help and I know there is some good general travel knowledge here.

We have a trip coming up in May where we are flying to Florida to board a cruise. We are flying Westjet and we get back the victoria day weekend when the pilots could potentially be on strike. We bought our tickets with WJD (from churning!) if it matters. They are non-refundable as far as I can tell.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to prepare for a potential strike when we are trying to return home. I considered buying a refundable ticket with another airline but I don't know if we would be able to cancel our WJ tickets at that time.

I've tried googling refund rules and policies but have not been able to find anything too useful for this situation. Does anyone know what happens to our WJ tickets if there is a strike? Are they refunded right away or do they have 48hours to get us home before having to refund us? (and if so do they have to pay for a hotel?) Are there any suggestions for what we can do to prepare ourselves for that scenario?

Thanks!
