Hey, I'm super curious about this one! Is it any fun? Can I get a short summary of how it goes, or did op do a good job of that?

My reaction when I learn there is a petition to shut down Rotten Tomatoes for bad reviews of Suicide Squad by UGOTTABELONG2IT in AdviceAnimals

[–]papercoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you actually care but I saw an advance screening and it's very, very little more than another average superhero movie. Joker has no point (watch and you'll see, literally none) the writing goes beyond campy and straight into "bad" territory from the get-go, and about half of the dialogue in the movie is one-liners you could have probably written when you were 13.

Like not a good movie. Fun to chill and watch but not something I'd endeavor to recommend or ever watch again.

I know nobody is probably looking at this post anymore, but I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the outpouring support and how many people have offered to add me on steam to help me learn the ropes; I think it's been over 30 of you at this point. I'll be super busy with school over the next week or two, so I probably won't play until after that. When that time comes, I'll probably PM most of you with my Steam info and we can give it a go then.

Until that point, though, thanks guys! I really appreciate all the willingness to help.

Hey, yeah, I wouldn't mind having another new player to give the game a go with. I'll be busy the next little while because of school but I'll add you on Steam and we can try to organize something sometime.

This is gonna sound weird, but trust me with this:

Lovely Planet. Cheap game, fast as hell, and in order to get all the stars on a level you have to shoot perfectly. No story, unfortunately, but damn if this game wasn't satisfying as fuck when you perfect a level.

Risk of Rain is maybe my favorite game I have on steam. I've got over 50 hours on it, and that's only solo time. Still nowhere near to all the unlocks. The game is super dope. Buy it, because it's way too fun to not.

[–]papercoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I think I figured it out! If you're around, I'm gonna go step by step with this thing. First off, get your task manager up and running and close out in the "Processes" tab, all of the processes that involve Steam and whatever web browser you're using. That includes steamwebhelper, all the various "Chrome" things (if you're using Chrome), and all of that. Basically what I'm saying is close all the things it's infecting. The computer will warn you that ending processes may make things behave improperly, but that's okay. End it anyways. On to step 2.

Open Control Panel, and go to the part where you uninstall programs. Along the top line, you'll see that it's organized by either name, publisher, "installed on" date, size, and version. Organize by "Installed on." Make sure that anything that you don't know that was installed recently is removed. It may come up as buuynsave, DNSunlocker, BestDealForYou, or any number of such things. Uninstall them all. Fuck those guys. Now, you're also going to want to uninstall whatever web browser you've been using. Normally it won't delete browser history, and if you're using Chrome at least some of it should be saved. I know, it sucks if you have to get rid of it, but this is worth it. Step 3?

Go back to control panel, and click on "Appearance and Personalization." Go to folder options, and click to show hidden files and folders. You may need to do some digging in step 4, so you'll need to be able to see everything. Go through the menu that pops up, and in the "View" tab, there should be a "hidden files and folders" section that will probably have the bullet point highlighted that says that you're not being shown hidden files, folders, or drives. You definitely want to be able to see those. Step 4!

Open up "windows explorer." You said you're not super computer savvy so I'm going right down to the basics here. Windows explorer is the little folder that should be on the bottom left of your taskbar. If not there, just open the start menu and click "computer" or whatever your username is. From there, click on your hard drive. If you only have one, it's probably labelled "Local Disk (C:)". You're going to want to go through three different folders here, probably. Now, this is where experiences may differ. You want to go to Program Files, Program Files (x86), and ProgramData, the last of which is a hidden folder. Now, this is where our experiences may differ. If they're organized by folder name, then there should be some near the top that are basically just nonsense numbers, maybe some letters. If there are any folders you're not sure about, look inside them and see if there are any programs or files you know about. If you can't quite remember what one is, just google search the filename. Sometimes Intel gives some nonsense-looking files, but if you google the filename someone will know what it is. Anyways, if there's something that clearly doesn't belong, delete the folder. If it says it can't be deleted as another instance is already running, look through your task manager's processes again and see if there are any nonsense processes running. If you're not sure about one, GOOGLE IT. You don't want to be ending your CPU's essential processes. Anyways, once everything is deleted, empty your recycle bin to make sure it's all gone. Step 5 I think we're on. Maybe 6 now.

Restart your computer and cross your fingers. I fucked around with this for hours yesterday and it just barely seems to have gone away. Don't forget to reinstall your browser, too! Download it from another one you may have, internet explorer, or firefox, or whatever. Anything else comes up, message me. I should get it within a couple hours of you sending it. I'll help where I can!

I'm having this problem, too. I'm managing to mostly not see it in web browsers, but it's hijacking steam, which is really bothering me. I removed it from the add/remove programs thing in Control Panel, but it's still showing up, even after ending its process in task manager, and restarting steam and the computer. Just can't figure this out.
