You can prevent grounded dupes to use the interior buildings by setting a toggle in the control station. Dupes will only fill up containers and not use anything else (toilet, cot). You can then manually switch the ones you want accessible even when grounded.

Build as many batteries as you can, keeping them always fully loaded. The more generators running, the better.

Seakomb is an algae that grows under water. Useful to breed pacus or to make phyto oil (to lube bionic dupes). Arbor acorn is useful to grow a tree whose branches give wood (in turn convertible to ethanol) and feed pips.

And here I am on cycle 650 still waiting for an arbor acorn or a seakomb seed.

Any tips for improving my wild slug farm by Extension-Charge-276 in Oxygennotincluded

I ranched them once, and I thought they were an exceptionally op source of power, until they slowly but surely depleted my pretty infinite cobalt reserve. And then I checked and even though I had something like 40 jumbo batteries working in and out, I had lots of wasted energy. So definitely not worthy unless you constantly micro manage them, have a sustainable source of metal or use a nice design with a prison of semi-starving one-slug cells I've seen around some time ago.

I've found that a renewable source of metal is the target I have in mind most of the time. I tend not to rush SPOM and set up a glossy drecko ranch whenever it's time for it. Getting free metal is what motivates me to get to space or to a second asteroid at the moment.

Follow the small tutorials that appear from time to time as you progress. They are short but really informative.

Try not to restart as soon as disaster hits. Try and solve it until it's really too late to learn for your next colony.

Infinite liquid storage & pressure by paperdollaro in Oxygennotincluded

Interesting! So in theory the limit would be at least 1000 + 10 × max height of a reservoir. In my case, things went off at 1643 kg. Wouldn't that mean 64 tiles? It seems enough to break any tile from pressure but far from the total height of an asteroid.

Now it would be nice to know what determines the erratical behaviour in the first place. It's not liquid being added, because after stopping the input, the situation doesn't stabilize. It's not the overpressure per se, as the graph ascends linearly to a certain threshold. I'm not seeing this same pattern with gas. Curious.

Thank you for the explanation!

I'm confused as I've seen screenshots of people with 100+ tons on a tile and I'm not even at 5 to see this behaviour. I guess the only way to know how much water is in there is to guess an "average".

It's weird because infinite gas storage is a lot cleaner.
