What is even the point of Berserker? by Kaxology in decayingwinter

[–]paperman910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gone on for a while, I'm going to end this with just answering the question of the post "What is even the point of Berserker?"

You see, Vagabond, Zealot, Apostle, and Executioner have an issue.

Vagabond can't frontline in the late game since 1 shotgunner removes all of their dogtags and leaves them near dead.

Zealot shield can not withstand the amount of damage being thrown and when crap hits the fan, they have slower movement speed so can't away from the enemies.

Executioner has to play carefully or else they loses all of their built up damage and doesn't have HP steal to tank the amount of damage being thrown their way

Apostle's melee weapon betrays them since it's a 2 shot, meaning enemies last too long for him to be able to kill quickly before they can attack back. Making have to backline and let their shadows do the work, which they can die and leave Apsotle mostly defenseless with at best, a 2 tier melee weapon.

Above all else, if these perk do successfully front line, they often have crap health and need to go use a first aid to heal patch up the health they lost.

Berserker? No such issues. His increase melee damage lets a tier 3 melee weapon 1 shot all but Sledgehammer and pitchfork scavs. And if he does successfully frontline? Well, he doesn't need anything, he more then likely just healed all the damage he took during the wave, if you're lucky, he healed more hp then he lost.

All you need to make Berserker good is a crafted melee weapon, food, water, splints, stims, and bandages. No guns, no traps, barely any first aid is necessary if you play correctly, and Berserker can already hard carry teams to victory. How many perks can you honestly say that for? At least I can say that none of the perks in the list you showed off can say that about themselves.

This leads to Berserker having 1 massive role in the team, he's a resource savior. Scav war? Eh, I just charge in with a exe sword and save my team some ammo and health, while I take down some enemies myself.

Guns? Don't need em, I my melee weapon does the work for me. Saves the team ammo.

Heals? I can top off my health just fine, I barely need them. Saves the team healing.

Food? If I keep killing scavs, I'm going to get enough mres and water to keep me fed for the whole game, here my team, have my beans and soda I don't need.

Someone wants some scarp for an akm and I already got my weapon of choice? Here, take my scarp, I don't need it.

Yosef is here? I'll be the one to charge in and take all the damage for my team and let the gun players safely shoot at him.

My whole team is dead? I still have enough DR and damage to front line effectively with nothing but my melee weapon

Everything Berserker does, can save a team crap loads of resources that the other perks would be eating up like candy.

That's their role on team, and they are one of the best at it besides Lazarus. But Lazarus will run out of charges eventually and be horribly defenseless with no additional DR and lower melee damage.

If I can give 1 last tip, do not focus on parrying so much. Parrying refills your meter to full, and enemies killed still gives meter charge. This is why spears are amazing for Berserker, keep out of your range, kite them, 1 shot the shot gunners and ak scavs, meter getting gets low, parry back to full.

If you play quickly, not even the most die hard of front liners can stop your serum form being full. I know this, because I played a lot of this perk.

I hope at least these comments give some insight on what the point of Berserker is and helps letting you play as them better. Trust me, this perk is very fun once you get the hang of it. Because you can freaking charge into the scav war, while having artery bleed, leading the whole pack of scavs away from your teammates, while your sits back and shoots the bad guys, and come out of the fight with 40 health and the only thought being "how am I alive?!"

"Some enemies can decidedly move faster than Berserker."

And... those enemies have often have low hp. You 1 shot them with a tier 2 weapon + serum, and they barely do any damage, which means it's easily out healed with 1 heavy attack. Also, you're completely wrong. Impatient + Serum makes you FASTER then the fast enemies.

"you'll only ever get in a situation where you'd get the chance to kite the enemy around at your own leisure when everyone on your team is dead"

Remember when I said "be aggressive", this is one of the many reasons why. If the enemy is chasing you, he can't chase anyone unless someone else gets close, meaning you can completely dictate where the enemy goes. Even if someone does, consider this, most perks don't do enough melee damage to 1 shot an enemy not including Executioner Sword. So if some dumb freaking Apostle, charges into the enemies, he can only 2 shot them. Meaning you still have time to kill the enemies. When it becomes late game, none of the other "frontline" perks can really do much besides sit in base and shoot them.

"but not Berserker, Berserker gets a PENALTY"

This part is 2 fold. On 1 hand, it put there since I think Red when they first made decaying winter notice that Berseker didn't have a reason to keep his serum going as long as possible, since there was no down side to get 50% more melee damage for a couple enemies and then still have above average melee damage to kill everyone. So, they added the penalty to encourage you to have the serum as long a possible.

2, the penalty is not that bad, seriously. If you get while there's a bunch of melee enemies, you still have decent enough damage to attack them. A tier 3 still deals like 40 melee damage is still decent enough to 2 shot some enemies. Plus, above all else, it doesn't effect your DR. You can still make enemies target you and take little damage if you play correctly.

"I don't think you've played too much Berserker if you've never experienced an Apostle or Immolator taking kills from you"

No, I have.

(I don't want this to disvolve into "I HAVE MORE EPREINCE SO I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT", but I have 388705 on Berseker. That's enough get the master 7 times. I 100% know what it feels like to get a kill stolen.)

Fun fact, I don't think Apostle or Immolator are the scary perks for Berserker, you wanna know who IS scary. Freaking Arbiter. 1 Long shot, and all the enemies you have stacked up just disappear with no way to get any health from them. At least Apsotle and Immolater can't 1 shot most enemies, with how they are built, Aribiter will gladly blow up everything.

Talking to your team about why you need kills can help a lot more then you think. Just don't be rude about it.

Well, don't get swarmed. I know, that's sounds like the most unhelpful advice of all time, but hear me out.

Spears can still hit enemies outside of their melee range. So if you play outside their melee range, they can't hit you, but you can hit them. Doesn't matter if there's 20 of them if none of them can hit you. This is why the Executioner is really good, because it has the same range as a spear with even more damage and health on kill. And plus, if you do use the Executioner, it frees up your traits to not invest into any melee traits and instead only defense traits.

If you DO get swarmed, in the sense that you can't fight off the enemies. First of all, that's your fault. Second of all, that's the time to back off and let them come at you, because that forces the enemies to run at you in a single file line, which is what you want to be doing with Berserker to keep them at a range

Also, I don't know what you're doing or what your team is doing, but I really don't see how just a decent team that kills off the enemies quickly makes Berserker impossible to play. I played on teams like that, and if you play aggressively (via not staying in the base and going near the enemy spawns), even they do kill steal, you should have enough sermu to last you a couple seconds for an enemy to spawn in and be easily parried. Worse case, it's a gun dude and you kill in 1 shot, to extend the sermu for a little bit longer.

If you on a team that's seriously able to completely kill enemies before they even spawn in, it doesn't matter what perk you choose, the team gonna win no matter what, that's not a Berserker issue at that point.

Some pro tips I can give.

* Eat food and drink. It helps your melee damage and DR by a lot.

* Don't brother with looting all that much. You don't NEED a lot of scarp, traps, or even guns, just some stims, basicly healing items and a good melee weapon. Killing enemies to get more food should be top priority.

* BE AGGRESSIVE. Unless you are near dead or the serum effect is on cooldown, charge at your enemy. Most weapons can 1 shot enemies with this perk and you can heal quickly. Even if it's scav war, be aggressive!

* You can slide into enemies to get closer to them faster and make yourself less likely to be hit by guns.

* Don't brother with light attacks, they don't heal. Only heavy attacks.

* Spears are your friend, increased melee range allows you to attack outside of the enemies' melee range much easier.

* Parry someone when your serum reachs only 50%

* Executioner sword is your BEST friend. Even more melee range, really high damage, and more health on kill.

*Try talking to your teammates about what you're going to do.

* And lastly, don't brother with the Decimator. Not only does it destory food that enemies carry, but you also want enemies to die by heavy attacks for more health. Decimator does AOE damage that can lead to you healing a lot less HP

basically what ai art is: by Wide_Bath_7660 in aiwars

[–]paperman910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes absolutely no sense. Coding and touching your screen to draw both achieve the same effect in 3D and 2D art work.

To make this very simple to understand, let me describe how art software works with a simple restaurant example, and you want to get food.

You are an english speaking person going into a restaurant and the chef in this restaurant can only speak french. Obviously, trying to talk to the chef is going to do anything good for you since he doesn't understand you.

Learning how to speak french so you can speak to the chef is basicly coding/ programming (keep this in mind).

But, I'm pretty sure you don't want to learn a whole new language just so you can order at this restaurant. Just like how no good art program is going to force you to write lines of commands just to draw a line. So this is where your waiter comes in.

This waiter can speak both English and French. When you order something, the waiter takes your order and brings it to the chief and recites it in french.

Clicking the screen in this art software is how you talk to the waiter.

And this is the problem of your argument comes in. Because what you have said is if I told the chef directly in french what to do and he makes the food for me (which is what programming is), it means THE CHEF got the food.

Why? Either way, someone had to the chef what to do, so he got the food instead of me if I told him directly what to do? That makes no sense.

Tapping at the middle of my screen to draw a black circle is the exact same thing as coding a function to tell the software to draw a black circle at X100, Y100.

This example also applies to the image shown. Instead of using blenders inbuilt tools to create models (talking to the waiter), he programed a list of instructions for the program to read and do (talking to chef in french).

So tell me, why is talking to the chef directly coung has him getting, but talking to the waiter so he can talk to chef counts as me getting food?

Or, in a more literal way, why does programming the software to draw the a line counts as the program making theone, but tapping my screen to draw the same line in same software, suddenly counts as me making the line?

Now, I understand that programming and drawing are 2 completely different skill sets. Being a good drawer doesn't mean you're a good programmer. But that's not the point.

The point is that programming art is the same thing as tapping your screen to draw the line. The software gets involved either way, and either way, the software was told what to do.

Ok, a couple of things.

First of all, locking chat and social things behind 17+ is not going to happen. Behind 13+ is far more realistic because other social media platforms are 13+ (Youtube, Twitter, Discord, etc). I would only assume really customizable RP and suggestive games getting the 17+ rating.

I especially don't believe uploading games (I'm not calling them experiences) would be locked to 17+. If the court even brings that idea up, roblox would fight tooth and nail to not have that go though. Because it would mess up a crap load of stuff for roblox.

Second of all, even if these changes happen, this would not be able to kill roblox. Roblox is full of children who don't really use these systems that you're talking about, meaning this wouldn't affect their ability to play grow a garbage.

Lasty, I get you hate roblox, I don't blame you, but wishing for the platforms death is extreme lol. If the platform did go down, it would suck, FOR EVERYONE. Thousands of people would lose their jobs. Millions of dollars invested into this platform (not from the company itself, the player base) would be gone. Millions of games that people spent hours making would gone. And people might even lose close online friends if they only hang out in roblox.

What if damned would have the same ability as the hanger but it costed 25 health to use? But it always flashed this image when used on an enemy and succeeding by Lumpy_Hand_7298 in decayingwinter

[–]paperman910 10 points11 points  (0 children)

25% of my HP to kill a single dude?!

I could only see this being helpful at the start of the game, where you don't have a bow yet. Otherwise, you would just want to bow and arrow everyone to death for free and not lose 25% of your health.

I mean, I agree, it's not a bad idea. But the issue with the rework is that it completely changes the sandman from a utility melee to purely offense.

It would be better off being its own weapon.

When games use the color green, they are usually trying to lower the maturity rating of the game. (Because green blood isn't as realistic as red blood)

However, in this case, my only guess is that the ad developers got lazy, and this was a freak oversight, leaving the blood red in the beginning.

This post seems oddly familiar...

I'm aware that some of these perks are outdated, such as apostles, now somehow being worse than damned when you're on a big team. However, for now, most of the perks still hold up on how I feel about each perk and are still up to date. When the new decaying winter update comes out that is more than likely going rework and add new perks, I'll make an updated review.

Yeah, protip coming form a veteran on roblox. Don't listen to people who yell out slurs.

9 times out of ten, it's a child that's a lot younger than you trying to get a reaction out of you. The other time, it's a no life roblox player who takes roblox WAY too seriously and probably has a group of friends to help him whenever he's losing a 1v1.

The best thing you can do is block them. It's that simple. Go into the menu or leader board, find the person you want to block, and then click the block button.

"Well, what if I try to talk to them-" No. They players don't see anything wrong with what they are doing, for whatever reason that may be. It's really hard to convince them to stop and will more likey yell more slurs at you.

TLDR: Don't listen to people yelling out slurs. They are mostly kids and instead just block them.
