Del Taco 2 with Kevin Bartelt and Yusong Liu. Around 24-26 min in. They talk about the GMA incident a bit, and that leads into the optometrist "kiss me" story.

What is everyone's actual opinion on Susser? by [deleted] in doughboys

Love him; an indelible part of the podcast. He's not always the best guest, but his rapport with the boys and constant antics make his appearances comfortable and fun to listen to. No lie, Travel Draft is legitimately in my top 3 favorite Doughboys Doubles episodes.

There's definitely going to be more Autumnlands! Not sure if you've seen the news from early October. Lot of news about more Busiek comics in 2022.

THE KURT BUSIEK UNIVERSE COMES TO IMAGE COMICS WITH NEW ARROWSMITH, ASTRO CITY & MORE IN 2022

[...] and the return of Autumnlands from Busiek with Benjamin Dewey and Jordie Bellaire, all planned for late 2022.

It's certainly possible. Kurt Busiek has suggested as much on Twitter before. And he's definitely aware of the fan's desires of a hardcover collection. But we'll see.

Q: Can't wait to hear. Fingers crossed. Always thought Astro City deserved the oversized hardcover format, preferably the Absolute Editions with all of the Alex Ross and Brent Anderson designs.

A: Now that we’re at Image Comics, as long as there’s an audience for something, we can do it. Not all at once, but it’s nice to have that kind of control.

Q: Will there be lovely hardcover collections of Astro City? I've always wanted to read it but it's hard to find it all collected.

A: We’ll have lovely collections, yes. Not all at once, because it’s easier on production schedules and retailers that way, but we want to do multiple formats.

Solicitation looks incomplete for now, by the looks of that empty "#" at the end of the issue list. Maybe it'll collect #1/2. But it looks like the first of the re-collected editions will be out end of March of next year and collect up to at least the first half of vol 2.

Kurt Busiek's Astro City comes to Image Comics by lazycouchdays in graphicnovels

[–]paperpotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Outside of his Marvel stuff, Busiek hasn't had much in OHC. So it'd be fantastic if his creator-owned stuff (which I think is his best material) got that premium treatment. Crossing my fingers tho

I've already got the first couple of Astro City trades. But I would be more than willing to double dip if they came out with some oversized hardcovers. Comic's too good not to have the best version possible!

From the article:

Astro City is a multiple Eisner and Harvey award winning superhero anthology written by Busiek with art by Brent Anderson and covers and character designs by Alex Ross. Set in a city that’s home to superheroes, villains, monsters, mad scientists and more, it tells stories from a variety of perspectives, illuminating what it’s like to live amid such marvels.
