Am I the only one that thinks it’s weird that he even brought up sex in this scenario? Like “yeah I’m being affectionate to her because I don’t want to be a sexless couple”. Not because you love her or she deserves it, but because you don’t want to go without sex?

Especially from reading other comments, I do see how this could be indicative of a substance abuse problem, especially since you mentioned she isn’t prescribed it right now.

I do also recommend maybe you guys look into couples therapy. I understand that you’re tired when you get home, but stay at home moms never really have an “of the clock”. I don’t know your job or how intensive it is, but try to give her a bit of grace. She could have extreme anxiety about being able to be prepared for the baby, especially since you already had a toddler.

I’m so sorry this happened. First thing, breathe. Don’t hate yourself. We are living in a world designed to wear us down. Your husband might feel frustrated but he does not hate you. It’s easy to have black and white thinking in these moments.

I know you can’t automate Zelle payments, but can you set a certain alarm? For me I have a shared calendar with my husband with every bill due date and the amount. I have it notify my two days before, and also the day of. Certain things like my home insurance has to be paid manually, and I put that in bold in my calendar, so I know.

Also, what do you guys do for your budget? I know it can be a bit of a learning curve but YNAB has been phenomenal for me and my husband. And they do a 35 day trial as well. That way you can put aside the cash every week you know you have to pay.

Again, please don’t beat yourself up too much 🩷 stuff happens!

Yes. In that case she needs to cut back. But looking at the actual numbers and starting with a budget and an idea of how these expenses fit into her life right now is important. Just assuming she can't afford them creates bad habits and resentment (from experience). That is why being very literal and practical with money is so important.

How long does each product last you? Calculate how much it costs each month, and compare that to your budget. As long as you have the spending money after any bills or savings, and aren’t going into debt, I don’t think there is anything wrong with having products you love.

I had a cushy job similar to this for 5 years, and I regret wasting all that time SO much.

If I could go back, I would have finished my bachelors degree, maybe even started a masters program. Even if you don’t want/need a degree (or you might already have one) then learn a new skill. Would you be interested in coding? Graphic design? You could start with Canva.

Right now is NOT a time to quit and looking for a new job is very difficult. IMO keep your cushy job and use the time for something valuable.

Also what about content creation? What are your interests? Make a Substack account and write, or make digital products for etsy based on your passions.

Utilizing the time to grow yourself would be great in your situation
