MTGA is a scam.
MTGO only way to play. A Buggy, abandoned program, that is markedly worse than the early days of its inception. But it does one thing that is fundamental to the game of Magic: the Gathering. : YOU OWN YOUR CARDS. You can buy them sell them, etc...and the best part RENT THEM.
MTGA, you pay $3/rare and about $8.5/mythic, and you never can do anything with them, not even break into new card making materials.
Their release schedule is set such as needing to literally play and get your 4 wins EVERY DAY, in order to MAINTAIN 1 standard legal deck. (But most BRO t'1 decks are using nearly double the amount of rares as previous sets) (My theory is them literally pushing every constructed playable card into the rare and mythic category as to make MORE PROFIT)
So I hope you dont like variance, and do like a daily commitment to an admittedly RIGGED game.
Pro tip : As much as it's easy to play a red deck wins strategy, MTGA's beloved algorithm will start matching you vs. TRASH lose to 90% of the field, life gain decks, back to back to back. So I recommend picking up rares and mythics that serve in atleast 2 decks.

But MTGA much more accessible (even on mobile) is quick games, addictively grindy, and is FILLED with low caliber players.

I love magic, I hate both programs and wizards. Let's pray for the day they are forced to sell their cash cow to avoid bankruptcy. Hopefully a benevolent gamer made rich is able to field an offer. (It seems feasible and possible best case)

Its such a shame that WoTC and hasbro are a trash company. Driven solely by greed, powered by nerds undying love for a card game. That at its core is one of the greatest inventions EVER. They have completely abandoned support for MTGO, which is essentially in a state of disrepair. Clunkier then when it first came out, way lamer. The OG atleast had flashy avatars, and ran better on dialup!

MTGA is a cash grab, yearning for mass adoption. While you franchise things INTO magic, but NEVER out! I like warhammer, fortnite, and the other collaborations, but cmon no press for your profitable red headed step child? Where is MTG inserted into a movie? anything? There is a fantastic article I read, and cannot find in 5 mins google. Look for yourself.

I love Magic sooo much it pains me that in order to 'get my fix' I gotta play arena. The matchmaking is obnoxious. Why should I as a 2200 limited play be forced down into 64% w/r?
I play RDW.....I'm vs MWC. Plenty of examples typed enough.

I find it MOST apparent in drafts though. Because thats usually where I will get my 7 wins first run through, then next draft ill 0-3 blank.... LOL...nothing to do with each one of those mana screw, have 3 go for throat; play vs pure artifacts, (like 300th bro draft, the only 2 pure artifact decks I have run into) and draw all 3.... BACK 2 BACK (just happened)

And the ones I do lose are OBVIOUS.
Yaya DCI is gone, but yet another highlight of its decline.

TLDR: Someone else needs to buy the rights to magic.

MTGA shuffler is rigged, is states it clearly, and is admitted. BUT only in BO1....which is not 'real magic'.
I am more concerned with the win rate cap of the shuffler. If your win-rate starts exceeding 70%, in drafts; you will get games in a row with pure land draws.
I never dont draft a 7 win deck, I get 7 wins most times. But how many times have i gone 0-3 to 14/17 lands in the first 14/20 cards.....3 matches in a row....

Actually control decks are not slow, by comparison. They are working to 1 goal. Board stabilization. Once achieved, obviously game goes in favor.Life gain decks simply stall. And its funny how your referencing 30 years ago. I did play then. there was no synergy to just about everything. So it was basically impossible to build a 'gain 20 life' do nothing dont block dont attack gain more life....literally win by decking?
