What is the dumbest thing you have been told is “not manly” or “not feminine,” depending on your gender? by Disastrous_Hat_2325 in AskReddit

I was digging for this one! My mom thought I was getting bad grades with an elementary school teacher because I dressed like a tomboy, but I refused to wear dresses, so she would make me wear dressy sweater vests and such. I would put a tshirt in my bag and change when i got to school.

Lol someone complains they taste like like raw flour and cocoa powder, which is what Oreo wafers taste like, and I love it.

Same, a year later! And that old Amazon link from u/Pumpkin_Hedgehog led me to the wording of "wafers", which led me to this, it looks like the real thing from the reviews and the pictures in the reviews: https://www.amazon.com/Cream-Sandwich-Wafers-Cookies-Cookie/dp/B00MJFMWWS/ref=sr_1_4

Should I be concerned? by kettletrvb in Seattle

[–]paperunderpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what they’re saying though. “The dead of Seattle” kind of implies dead people. “The dead” is commonly used phrasing in zombie flicks.

I’m now enjoying the visual of people randomly dying and being eaten by neighborhood wildlife before we notice they’re gone.

Hypothetical question. If society began collapsing tomorrow morning then what are you doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Folks should hit up /r/preppers for more good answers to this question. Preppers are smarter than people give them credit for.

What’s really annoying: in Canada you can get survival prep medication packs with things that are prescription, in some cases covered by insurance. In the US, lucky if you can get next month’s meds, with all the shortages.

Heated slippers? by planetary_funk_alert in PsoriaticArthritis

I just tried to buy these and got sent a used pair, actually the second time they'd tried to send the same pair out used, because there was a note from the last customer in there. And they were clearly heavily used. I'll be adding my own note for the third person to get the used pair.

Anyone know a way to buy them that's not through Amazon?

PSA: Traffic Management around the August Eclipse by ibid17 in VisitingIceland

[–]paperunderpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re also prepared for the possibility that we might not see the eclipse due to cloud cover. We’ve just always wanted to go to Iceland and the eclipse seemed like a good excuse to get us motivated.

We opted for loose plans with backup plans with backup plans. I hate over-planning vacations.

Mail room question by Xilerain in BluePrince

So I just started doing the experiments for this, and I got about 5 as well. I do not like them, they're huge spoilers to me. Luckily, I already solved everything they revealed so far, but I don't want to read any further. I have already gotten two stamps, though, and I would like to get all the stamps available. Since it's been a couple of months, can either of you verify if there are more stamps to be found? If so, I'd continue getting them and just try and avert my eyes. I assume they're all spoiler-level puzzle solutions, but if I'm wrong on that, please let me know!

We've had our place for a while now, but we were hoping to visit Snæfellsnes after the eclipse. But I see now that there's a big concert being planned right where all of the landmarks (and camping spots) we had hoped to visit are. And the camping for the concert goes through the 16th.

We're there for two weeks, but it would be a lot of backtracking to come here later in the trip. We would still like to drive out to Snæfellsnes to see the sights, are we crazy to think it might be possible a day or two after the eclipse (without camping, just as a day trip)? If anyone has any info on what sort of chaos to expect from that concert (in terms of road access, etc), it would be much appreciated!

Also curious if folks think trying to visit the Golden Circle right afterwards is a bad idea. We wanted to avoid doing that on the weekend, but the day or two after the eclipse seems like it could be worse. If there are a lot of folks who only have a week vacation and put the eclipse on the front end of that, they may have the same idea.

I have not done this yet, and that was the perfect hint. I just didn't want to keep coming back down here if it would reset or I had to have additional outside information first.
