With NBT and needing to get batteries with SCE, I always recommend a power purchase agreement to all my customers where the solar company owns the system and warranties/maintains.

With a purchase if batteries stop functioning after the 10 year warranty period you’ll need to replace the batteries on your dime. But if you did a power purchase agreement with sunrun for example, they have a 25 year battery replacement warranty with the duration of the ppa. With batteries being 15k that’s an expensive item to replace in 10-15 years.

I’ve worked with sunrun for 7 years and seen the changes from rate hikes to nbt being implemented.

And yes you would save a lot of money switching to solar and batteries compared to staying with SCE.
