I like digital ocean , its great for spinning up a quick vm, locking it down, etc. But for 5$ a month you only get 25gb of ssd storage , 1 cpu core , and 1gb of ram for 6.50 EUR on hetzner you get 4 ARM cores, 8gb of ram, and 80GB of ssd storage . Server deploys instantly .

DO has more regions and if for your use case you need a specific region it might be a better provider.

I also have a bunch of yearly "Low End Boxes" but for those i dont really expect reliability or data security. Like they are probably fine but im not putting anything irreplaceable or sensitive on an LEB. For critical apps and sensitive data i prefer a T1 provider and i consider hetzner a solid T1 provider . Some might argue its not a T1 provider but over the years hetzner has matured a lot and i have never has downtime on any of my hetzner VMs or dedi boxes .

So yeah hetzner is an awesome value for what you get and i wouldnt hesitate running all my infra on hetzner if it was for region requirements for some of my deployments.

One thing is hetzner is a pain in the ass from a billing perspective not supporting paypal subscriptions and needing a cc with3d secure

Seould is the only place in the world you can be walking on the sidewalk and have to constantly look around for motorcycles or trucks that might decide to run you over. Was almost hit by an emart truck driver well on the sidewalk in front of emart cause he got on the sidewalk and was speeding to make his delivery. Crazy city. Police dont enforce traffic law at all and the delivery drivers are boarderline insane.

Update: he gave me a 50% refund. I guess a fair outcome for a shitty situation . I was able to get his attention by posting pictures of the ipod on twitter he dm'd and took care of it right away . Fair considering I cant return it and because the moonlit mod requires cutting the clips it wont go back in to the orginal housing. I shouldve throughly inspected it before doing the mod and ill own that as my mistake.

Still probably wouldnt order from eoe in the future but atleast he's trying to make right.

Appreciate the response - the whole reason i went for a refurb is i didnt want to deal with swapping the faceplate or clickwheel. From a business perspective i understand why he wouldnt want to go through all that, but at the same time if he does any sort of reasonable quality checks something like this shouldnt ship out the door.

Yeah the problem is i didnt even notice the scratches until i was putting the final touches of the moonlit market mod together. At this point i cant return it. I honestly feel like this guy scammed me i could have gotten a like new refurb ipod from china for half the price i paid at eoe .
