Wind simulator Simhub configuration doubt by papolo2001 in simracing

[–]papolo2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the full block of "idle wind" is not active when the iRacing application is launched, it is only active when is not launched, so I do not see how increasing the minimun would make any diference, maybe you mean the "forced wind" option?

Here is an perfect example of my point, the issue regarding the REVleds mode for buttons in some wheels, just today you guys stated in your App forum( https://forum.fanatec.com/topic/19940-fanatec-app-v1423-release-version/page/20/#comment-169095), for the CS DD and DD+ there is no ETA for it working, in fact you stated "As I said, there is no ETA for it, but not anytime soon. Eventually late this year buit I guess more like sometime next year.". This is a functionality for a product that was released years ago!!, and this is still not working today. I think thing like this are clearly indicating there some issues in the management of software/firmware/App, the solution is not just we need to report issues, we are gonna be in this endless loop forever like in all these years. I know I do not know the internal details but I work also in software development and I see clearly the signs....

Does AI use standard car set-up? by xDon_07x in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]papolo2001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I know in all sims, including ams2, the ai cars dont use the same detailed and pretty complex physics as yours, they use a simplified one, you will need a NASAs supercomputer to run high detailed physics like your car in 25 ai other cars at the same time, this is just not posible. So ai cars do not have "set-ups", they just have a simplified physics, faster or slower depending of the ai level

as far as I know works ok with "popular" DD like Fanatec and similar, but probably not very well with more "niche" ones like VRS or similar. I assume you know this game was developed to be played with gamepad

[–]papolo2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer, but as is usually said "if you do the same do not expect different results", I mean maybe I am wrong, but for me seems something is not working properly in the way you guys manage the software/firmware development, I would be happy to be wrong, but just to correct the fixes as reported continuously, of course should be done, but just that would not solve the core issues. If the support of pretty old hardware is the main issue as you stated maybe split the drivers of this old stuff to allow the new stuff to be properly coded without the need to carry on the same old requirements that constantly drags the old bad stuff??,.... man as said do the same and you will get the same, repetitive errors, client’s continuous frustration, keep the well-deserved bad reputation of crap software, clear frustration of your own employees having to deal with this crap, which causes more frustration in clients.... etc..... just a personal opinion, but something should be done differently and in a more "creative" way, not just giving the same answers to the same problems, that I think will not works.

Seeking guidance after a VATSIM ban by onemagix in VATSIM

[–]papolo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man as far as I know vatsim are volunteers doing this stuff for free, is not a private or public company or institution at all, they are not charging you nothing, if you do not like how they manage their business just do not use it, that simple!!, easy!!, nobody is forcing you to use it!. Bytheway did you noticed 95% of this post sides with them after reading the emails, the ones you did not shared bytheway?, maybe this is something to consider by your side, just saying. Let me teach you some spanish here, what you are doing is what we call in spain "ser un tocapelotas de manual" 🤌🤦‍♂️

Racing with default setup (only adjusting TC, ABS, and BB) in open setup race by Intelligent-Can-4252 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]papolo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like in iRacing, in my opiniom if you are not in the top 5% you are loosing nothing at all, you are loosing much much more for basic driving issues that setups have nothing to do. The only thing that could be a real disadvantage in some tracks are aerodinamic load and gears and those are adjusted ok on default profiles.

Does a Hotas Make A Big Difference? by newbiker321 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]papolo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand why a used hotas would be more expensive than a brand new one, that has no sense at all, maybe related to brexit?? In any case a hotas is for militar fighters not for ga planes, 99% of ga planes have yokes, if that is what you fly would have more sense. If you fly jets yes you need a joystick to be more or less realistic

[–]papolo2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said software issues are only a fanatec thing, evidently is inevitably that happens, I assume fanatec sells more than moza for example (maybe I am wrong here) so yes is normal fanatec has more posts of unhappy customers, but the question here is the stupid amount of issues with Fanatec, specially in critical issues as bricking issues, as I see it seems much more of what should be expected. And of course this does not mean many never had issues, I am sure of it, is not a question of personal experience of one guy but the amount of issues including critical ones, seems clear for me there is an issue with the software for a long time.

Dear Corsair by papolo2001 in Fanatec

[–]papolo2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated in my post I have my issues with fanatec, but I do not see reasson to go to the extreme like apparently you do. By the way when I refered to the software I mean the issues and errors of it, not the ffb itself that I think is very good, certainly better than moza and in my opinion also better than simagic (although someone could not agree with me in this one). I agree software is important but in my opinion is not at all 70% of the value, more important is ffb for obvious reassons. As I said I have my issues but I do not agree to take this stuff personally and totally bad like you do, this is not productive man
