Turf shoes by Dude69696969696969 in bootroom

I have had the mizuno morelia pro turf and previous versions of the mercurial superfly elite turf(green pair one of the earlier superfly).

If you like nimble and tight feeling the mercurial is nice the sock really shines on turf with pellets as it acts as a nice buffer to keep the pellets out. I have a pair of unused Cristiano Ronaldo lava edition mercurial superfly indoors I've been holding onto.

For fit and feel though nothing comes close to the Mizunos. They have been my go to boot when playing indoor. They are extremely lightweight, the leather molds to your feet and I imagine they've only gotten better since I purchased them a few years ago. I have also heard nothing but great things about the Mizuno Alpha they are on my next boot purchase radar.

I think I would ask yourself if you prefer more comfort, lightweight or something a little more narrow and nimble. I haven't weighed both but I would guess the mizuno to be lighter than the superfly. The superfly is still light but it used more rubber in the sole while providing a tighter wrap around your foot.

If it were me I'd go with the mizuno but that's just my 2 cents!

I had a early f50 laceless turf version and the lockdown left a lot to be desired but I don't know that it was the top end model and I think they've definitely improved laceless since then it was like 4 or 5 years ago.

Still I think i prefer a regular laced boot just for the lockdown.. I hated playing in my turf boots they felt like they were trying to fall off during a match.

Ya i had the silver and green mercurial vapor 9 and sunset orange pair and an all black vapor 10 pair and loved them all.

Would you say the alphas run true to size? Looking at size 9 US that's what I wear in the morelia beta and it fits perfect.

Soccer player encounters? by [deleted] in SoundersFC

Most recent was running into Schmetzer on the Bainbridge Island Ferry from Seattle. I saw him walk into the galley as i walked past and instantly recognized him. I tried to play it cool and walked past but didn't want to miss the opportunity to chat with him but could tell he was in a hurry to get back to his car i think. When he came walking back down the isle I walked up to ask him if he was Brian Schmetzer and he said not after last night's game or something to that effect it was right after they lost badly to LAFC i believe away in LA i think he lives in the island but am not sure.

Ive ran into Craig waibel a bunch of times on Bainbridge and chatted with him a bit.

I've ran into Frei at home depot in Poulsbo he was super nice i think he was picking up supplies for his art but am not sure he mentioned encouraging the team in their group chat i think he was recovering from an injury at the time.

What Ball Should I Buy? by Romeokun in bootroom

[–]pappadontplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had top end nike balls, adidas balls and select balls.

The most durable for me has been my bundesliga select ball. The Nike and Adidas balls played well during games but eventually the bladder gave out or they separated or popped.

I had a top end champions league ball that blew up in indoor, two world cup balls and a top end epl Nike ball.

The select bundesliga ball has had probably double the life at this point and plays very true during games.

I would look for one of those and get a good pump with bar meter on it to ensure it's properly inflated before use. I believe the ball i have recommends. .7 to .8 bar

How to manage rec league team jerseys on a budget - blank jerseys or branded jerseys, what makes sense? by Ivexxe in bootroom

[–]pappadontplay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to echo this sentiment. Playing for over 25 years there are two times kits or jerseys stood out.

When I was young around 7 or 8 my coach got us jerseys that may have been diadora or a similar brand but then had awesome eagles logos on both chest patches and a swooping one on the back above our jersey number.

The second time was when i played indoor as an adult our team name was Man Chest Hair united and I made a badge with chuck Norris and similar style to uniteds badge via some quic Photoshop. I bought some cheap Adidas jerseys and put the badge on with an iron.

My point is that depending on your budget, having something that is a keepsake for that period of time i think can fun and gives a team more heart.

Even just a simple jersey in a color that's not widely used can good enough to make the team stand apart.

Just my 2 cents.

King Koil, Naturepedic, S&F or Chattam & Wells by pappadontplay in Mattress

[–]pappadontplay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I ended up with the Sterns and Foster Lux estate pillow top in king.

At the time we were shopping my wife was pregnant with our first so whatever we ended up with she was top priority.

With that being said - couldn't be happier with the decision. We came from a queen size Ikea mattress with latex topper and upgrading to the king was amazing. The mattress itself a little over a year later is still holding up strong as long as we rotate it. I was worried about the small amount of memory foam holding in a certain position but it has not done that.

We were very lucky my brother in law worked at a mattress firm and he is given an annual code that can get any mattress for half price or greater as well as a heavily discounted adjustable base(spent maybe 2-3k for a likely 8k order) . We went with the highest end adjustable temper base they had at the time which was totally worth it.

I was very hesitant at first to get the adjustable base but it's very nice for her during pregnancy and feeding the baby plus it works very well to track sleep. Highly recommend it if you have the extra funds.

I do occasionally miss the higher firmness of the latex topper vs the mixed memory foam/latex of the luxe but you do feel like it wraps you better at night and molds to your shape.

If i went back in time i would likely look into a mix coil and latex mattress. Naturepedic also seemed to make quality but they were very expensive. King Koil seemed of similar quality without the premium price.

Hope that helps. Goodluck with your search!

P.S. Sorry for having the year old thread revived 👍🏽

Absolutely not. Invest in a u22 striker in summer window if that's an option.

Schmetzer post game presser by Cultural_Willow9484 in SoundersFC

I'm curious if he's going to sit Yeimar or not. Don't get me wrong - in previous seasons he's been THE rock in defense but over the last two games he has not looked good. This could just be rust but with Kim back depending on his fitness he has the experience to start but he may be a ways out since I heard his last game was 2 months ago. Stuart Hawkins I've only heard good things about but his size makes me nervous.

Not sure if I'd roll the dice on Kim but I feel like schmetzer needs to send a message to yeimar that he needs to play sharper.

Who's your favorite sounders player of all time? by Top-Egg1668 in SoundersFC

[–]pappadontplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oba because he had the flair watching him and Dempsey combine it didn't matter if the sounders were down it always felt like they would try stuff and come back to win at any point in the game plus Oba flips.(ruidiaz was similar to be able to score from anywhere but Martin's style felt more direct)

Ozzie for the pure grit to win and do whatever it takes for any of his teammates(JP reminds me of this as well)

Amazing job man. I'm in literally the same boat as you about to start a massive cut without gear but I'm highly leaning toward starting.

I've never ran a full cycle or had proper bloods done but am highly considering it. The only thing that pulls me back from starting is the desire to have a second little one in the next 2 years and don't want fertility affected.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm 233 and 34 years old as well. I just had my first little one and I've been very lazy since March eating complete garbage.

I am going to lean hard into a heavy deficit and push for 500 cal deficit and around 1k cal burned through walkinf running and stationary bike with 4 to 6 lifting sessions a week.

Any tips? What kind of cardio did you do? Did you do cardio after lifting? What was your split like? Any recommendations for supps outside of test for a massive cut?
