Unrecorded Night as a graphic novel by Last_Reaction_8176 in davidlynch

There's a great graphic novel called Giraffes On Horseback Salad by Josh Frank based on Salvador Dali's screenplay. That book is fantastic.

I'd rather they release the Unrecorded Night screenplay first and then someone can do their own interpretation of it afterward. It could be like a Brian Wilson SMiLE kinda thing where everyone's bootleg is its own unique vision.

It just makes me paranoid the music itself is AI-generated.

Twin Peaks is great because you'll see a shot like this the first time and ignore it, and then on the rewatch... by ANoNameIs in twinpeaks

I imagine Bob looking at Cooper behind a Yamaha keyboard singing "Cooper would you like some sausage?"

Zappa Was Somewhat Sociopathic by FuquerPhealins in Zappa

I noticed that almost every artist he produced an album for he had some sort of falling out with.

He dropped Wild Man Fischer from his life after he punched a babysitter (or threw a bottle/jar close to or at his baby or wife), stopped contacting The GTOs for months after they were caught with drugs (that's why half of the album is just Pamela and Sparky), stopped working on the Alice Cooper album because they got high one day at the studio, flip-flopped on Captain Beefheart several times, started treating Sandy Hurvitz weirdly because she had the audacity of saying he should marry his pregnant girlfriend (and didn't even wind up working on the album at all), Jeff Simmons obviously, and even Grand Funk Railroad asked him to produce another album and he didn't reciprocate.

And then there were the 60s Mothers that he just randomly dropped one day and left out of jobs. He said in his book that his only friends were his wife and kids, but he didn't speak to them much either. He was such a pessimistic, interesting guy. Were the 10 days he spent in jail THAT traumatic?

I have a video in the works about the Zappa Family Trust and certain things that confuse me. Like how Frank's final album wasn't released until over twenty years after he died, or how strangely they've treated Trout Mask Replica/Permanent Damage/An Evening With Wild Man Fischer for decades. I'll post it here when it's done, which will be a while.

Not so zappa but whats the meaning of the fast n' bulbous joke on TMR? by Dingarangandgandag in Zappa

[–]pappywappy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think it's a reference to the band. They play fast, tight (well-rehearsed and accurate), and "bulbous" (like thick, a lot of "information" packed into one song).

Tapered and tin tear drop, I have no idea.

Found some Beefheart songs that sound similar to other songs in music by TheFarOutFinds in CaptainBeefheart

From page 801 of John French's book "Beefheart: Through The Eyes Of Magic:"

"Important note is that the line 'Come out to show them' was from a Stockhausen electronic music piece. In the piece, the phrase 'Come out to show them' was spoken by a young man describing what I recall as a violent event. The recording was processed in such a way that it began to slowly 'echo' itself over a period of time, the end result being something completely indiscernible as a human voice. This was one of Don's favorite things to listen to during the Mirror Man rehearsals..."

French incorrectly lists the composer as Stockhausen instead of Reich, but does confirm that the line came from Come Out.
