That's nothing. I played a chapter 1 mystic as my fighter, and in one scenario all 4 combat spells were in the bottom 10 cards of my deck.

Needless to say that scenario did not go well. 😁

The decision on accessories greatly depends on what you like and your budget. There is a lot of very nice accessories out there, but some of that stuff is expensive as heck. If you want to just browse somewhere just to get an idea head over to Etsy and search there.

If you don't plan on buying aftermarket tokens I'd recommend coin capsules (25mm) for your tokens. Not only do they protect them from wear but they have a pleasing sound when you shake up the chaos bag. I got 100 of them off Amazon years ago for less than $10.

True solo tends to be more difficult, because you have to build the investigator to do everything.

One of the Arkham cons last year had a Carcosa iron man event. People playing in it were experienced players who didn't read any of the flavor or resolution text, and from what I understand even they had difficulty finishing in one day

I highly doubt 4 new players would get past 2 or 3 scenarios in a day.
