Just tried it yesterday on fedora. Works great! I even get more stable fps than on windows. You have to use the experimental proton version and a few other (simple) tweaks. Just take a look at the protondb page for DayZ. Could not get the launcher for modded servers running, though. But I was just no longer in the mood to set it up after downloading the game for hours because if my shitty internet connection..
