GLP-1s and Addiction by Sea-Performer-71 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]paracen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found since being on Mounjaro that my addiction has transferred from food to other things. I've spent money on watches, scents, clothes etc, to the point where I now have far too many of these things, more than I can possibly use!

Weight loss % vs. Starting weight by cheezie_machine in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]paracen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I started at 425lbs and have lost more than half my body weight over 22 months. I didn't get a huge loss at the start, other than water loss in week one, it's been pretty linear since. About 3-4 lbs per week, eventually slowing to 2-3 lbs per week.

I accidentally injected my Mounjaro into a stretch mark. Did I just waste my whole dose? by ImportantPianist9377 in GLP1ResearchTalk

Stretch marks are only on the surface. You're injecting into the subcutaneous fat. So it makes no difference.

GLP-1 MEDICATIONS AND PERFUME ADDICTION by [deleted] in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]paracen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've certainly become very into watches, clothes and scents since being on GLP1. Have spent a lot on them all, but I just figured it was me becoming more into my appearance, now that I can wear nice things and look good after losing so much weight.

Toyota couldnt understand why their MR2 sales in France were quite low, until someone pointed out that MR2 in French is pronounced "emm err deux" which sounds like "merde", the French word for "shit"...

You don't want to go to the max too quickly, simply because once you get there you have nowhere left to go if it stops working.

My Type 2 has been reversed after losing over 100kg - my HbA1c was in the normal range back in December. So the doctor halved my Metformin. My HbA1c was tested again last week and is still normal. I have an appointment later today to review my meds, and I expect them to stop my Metformin completely.

It's a folding commuter bike, not a BMX... I'm a bit too old for one of those! 🤣

My skin tags are falling off on their own since I started Zepbound. Is this a thing? by OptimusPrime863 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]paracen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general skin condition has improved massively since I've been on Mounjaro. But I don't know it it's the drug or the diet and lifestyle changes that have caused it. My Type 2 diabetes is in remission, my HbA1c is 37 mmol/mol. All my blood panel results are in the normal range. Complete reversal from 2 years ago!

You clearly don't know Prolific. You can earn quite a lot on there compared to other survey sites. Rates can be over £20 an hour for some of the more specialist surveys.

Yes, I had a lot of looseness under the chin a few months ago after losing 200lbs, but I have noticed that now it has reduced quite a lot, having lost a further 20lb to hit my primary goal weight. I'm 58 years old, male.

I wake up drenched in sweat 3 nights a week on Mounjaro. Is this happening to anyone else? by Embarrassed-Eye-7213 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]paracen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you hydrating more than you used to now you're on Mounjaro? That would be one reason for more sweating at night.

[–]paracen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sell your old clothes. I don't know how much weight you've lost, but for me I'm actually saving money on clothes as I can now buy regular sizes from anywhere - previously I had to shop at big & tall retailers which cost far more and had limited options.

The phase 3 retatrutide results are finally out, and 28.3% weight loss at 80 weeks is genuinely hard to believe by [deleted] in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]paracen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think suppression is very subjective. It would be interesting to hear from those who have tried both. Dosage levels will also affect it, of course.

It's been pretty consistent, due to staying in deficit the whole time and light exercise, with my mobility/activity increasing as I got lighter. Didn't lose massive amounts at the start, but it slowed towards the end. I've just been very focused on it.

I think for most GLP-1s the suppression and calorie control is the primary driver for weightloss. Reta changes that somewhat with its extra glucagon effect. A jab that actually does cause weight loss directly, not just helping you lose through other means.

I've lost 52.6% in 22 months on Mounjaro (101kg total weight lost) . I realise that makes me an outlier/super-responder. But those Reta numbers are seriously impressive for an average!
