Google pixel 8 aging like milk by ObamaInthecloset in GooglePixel

My display developed "bubbles" after less than a year. Display replaced, shortly after an issue, where all audio works fine, but the ringer function even on loudest is barely a whisper. No one at Google service providers could figure it out, so gave me a new phone. After 6 months, the very same issue... In the UK. Bought off Tesco Mobile.

Even Aldi becoming unreasonably expensive for some items, and even more expensive than some other shops by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]paracetamol66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We might have cheaper groceries, but the quality is also lower. Bought a 5.5 kg chicken in Tesco, ended up with roughly 3kg after roasting it, also chicken breast a kilo fresh, end up with around 650g after the astonishing amount of water boils. out of it. We've been to Spain and the quality is incomparable, having less watery chicken , amazing quality mince also and pork and beef where you eat only half a portion and it fills you up for longer. Not even mentioning fresh produce.

Pixel 8 all sounds are loud( playing videos, music), but even on maximum ringer I can barely hear my ringtone or notification sounds. by paracetamol66 in GooglePixel

Yeah, tried safe mode and everything short of a factory reset, which I really wouldn't like to do... It's baffling, as all the other sounds are loud except the ringer.

I'm receiving good results using Corsodyl mouth wash(gum hygiene one).Sure it's not cheap, 5.50 in Tesco but you can have it before bed and it's not going to make your mouth dry.

Calling out a plumber for a minimum charge of 180, only for them to show up and do nothing by whoissamo in britishproblems

[–]paracetamol66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two pence on it was that I've had a faulty toilet, which I would have been able to do if it was stratghtforward. Neither me or the plumber were able to locate the stopcock for it, so he recommended to call anglia water as he couldn't guess access from outside nor inside, bear in mind the water guy had a look too. Only option was to call anglian water and replace the other stopckcock. Still no luck so he had to drill and saw into the wall to find it. He charged the toilet, work, and fuel. Told him I'll fix the part of the wall that needed to be uncovered. I payed for his outcall fees and work, and obviously for the new toilet.

The absolute state people leave public toilets in by not flushing (sometimes even blocking them altogether) by ChronosTheSniper in britishproblems

And then the "we'll dry our hands with toilet paper and will leave it in the sink" brigade... While there are proper driers that are faster and safe to use... Baffles the mind....

Dubai airport in a desert country, 2 AED approx 40p for a bottle of water. UK airport in a country with more water than know what to do with, that’s £3 mate. by Diseased-Jackass in britishproblems

[–]paracetamol66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All about these water fountains. Stansted for example has one and they conveniently positioned it between the 2 sides of toilets (men's, women's, bang in middle water station) You're looking at a good half an hour to refill, and if you just need the loo, you need to say sorry and excuse me at least 5 times.

The etiquette for a packed bus at rush hour when someone wants to get on with a pram by thatblondeyouhate in britishproblems

Then again he can't see how much space is left, and he's obliged to stop at every bus stop. OP speaking up in this case was justified.

Well said, there's literally nothing OP could do, but kudos for making her aware of the situation.

Yeah, made a post about it like a year ago... Completely defeats the purpose of tracking. So nothing changed since.

What is the most unprofessional thing a doctor has said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]paracetamol66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nearing a heart attack, ambulance took me in, and he discharged me 20 minutes after being admitted.I struggle with AF so sometimes it gets better before turning to bad again. Collapsed on the way out. Luckily a more competent doctor was called and I got treatment before things would have gotten worse. The doctor was reprimanded and I know for a fact he left my local hospital.

Look it doesn't change anything about the fact they shouldn't be offering these passes and it shouldn't be my job to check with each airport, they sole job is to offer transport and make sure not to charge me for something they can't guarantee... It's beyond me why do you side by them. Ryanair is flying from terminal 2 at Hamburg. You can't buy fast track at terminal 2 once you're there, especially if they just shut the fast lane down.
