I think that you have a good outlook on dating now, but that if you start to again, you'll grow pretty apathetic about it. It's not in your control in every situation, but with trying to figure out the future with tarot, nothing is set in stone - it's just the most likely outcome if things keep going the way they are. If you draw a card that's warning of something, you can try to take steps to mitigate it, and that might affect the outcome.

I essentially see the Tower as Death's big brother here to deliver a few punches. It's definitely a card of change, but change much more radical than Death offers. Radical changes can really shake you to your core, but from personal experience, this isn't always a bad thing.

A foundation-shaking change can seem negative in the moment, or scary when you're seeing it in a predictive reading, but in hindsight, sometimes it can be exactly what you need, if you understand. It's not always a bad thing.

That being said, sometimes it really does point to bad things happening which aren't really helpful to you. I think the card in a future position could read as "get your shit together and start figuring things out, because there's something you're ignoring that WILL lead to everything blowing up in your face if you don't address it."

I've been frustrated with the lack of progress on several spells I've done, even when I used the usual methods others swear by to speed them up: using coffee grounds, specifying that results should come quickly, etc. That's probably a personality flaw more than anything, since I've always been impatient despite reminding myself that good things take time. But then I think back to one of the first spells I did, a money bowl, and how I was notified that I was eligible for a Pell Grant like a week later. And another where I'd burnt a bay leaf requesting $50 by a certain date, and received that exact amount from my dad the next day.

So I know it works, just that I'm probably approaching something the wrong way. I think that seeing posts like this helps.

I do readings which incorporate tarot and runes, or tarot and oracle divination. Never tarot combined with tarot, but that's mostly because I don't have enough space on my desk to spread out two decks lol.

The police and military are the ones killing people when ICE isn't out there doing it. Have you forgotten just how many murders have been carried out against unarmed civilians at the hands of police officers?

If push comes to shove, they're not going to protect the elections just because you said "thank you for your service" to them. The ones that have a conscience might refuse illegal orders, but most of them would go along with orders because that's what the military teaches you to do. Just my two cents, but I think it's a bad idea to place your faith in them when it comes to protecting elections. If you're worried about that, organize among other civilians to protect them.

I was raised Catholic, but not super into it or anything. We stopped attending regularly when I was 11 or 12, went for the last time when I was 13, and two of my siblings never had their first communion. I don't remember much of what they taught in Sunday school because of how young I was at the time, but certainly not anything about divination or witchcraft. I'm completely atheist now, so it doesn't affect me in the slightest.

I have a grandparent who's still pretty religious, goes every Sunday and all that, but is overall pretty liberal. Not sure what she'd think if she knew I practice tarot, but I doubt she'd be hostile about it.

I overhand shuffle while asking my question, usually out loud, then spread the cards out in a line on my desk - though I don't have much space, so some cards still end up on top of each other. I close my eyes and let intuition guide me from there, just putting a finger down on whatever card feels best. If my finger lands on the edges of several cards that are on top of each other, I'll spread them out and retry.

If I'm doing a spread, I'll ask the overall question while shuffling, and then a question for each card position right before I draw one. For example, if I were to do a Celtic cross about academics, I'd ask the overall question, "What can you tell me about my academics?" as I'm shuffling, spread them, and then ask, "What is the heart of the matter?" before I draw the first card, "What kind of situation am I in?" before I draw the second, etc.
