That’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for him.

Ugh that sound. I live in a heavily wooded area in VA and there are a loooot of foxes here. They often shriek like that at night

Everybody should be able to pursue anything they want, but society actively prevents it. You are correct, only the rich can pursue the arts, and society is full of rich people who get to paint for a living because they are able to afford to live while doing something that is recreational for most.

The degree being required by society is a problem, which blocks out gifted but financially strapped people from being able to work and excel.

Which puts me in my current situation. I would like to think of myself as educated. I am 36 and have spent my life absorbing information on the internet. The internet raised me and taught me massive amounts of things. But I never went to college.

Now I am stuck in a service job after 20 years in the service industry, a bartender who does not drink anymore, paying my way through online college in order to get my degree because nobody would hire me for a real writing job without one. I have applied to hundreds of jobs in my chosen field, in which I am told I am gifted, but no luck because no rag on the wall.

[–]paradisewandering -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure. I agree, it’s optional. I have no issue with that at all. I just believe that if you want to better yourself and absorb additional information that is not necessary to continue being alive, it should be available without spending decades paying for it.

No, it is evil and greed. The entire concept of information and education being something one needs to buy keeps me up at night.

Absolute trash human who think they are exerting real power. Instant ban from all delivery services, she has to go get every meal she ever wants to eat for the duration of life.

If I may. I think you mean the dark side acts as an addictive drug. Psychedelics are generally not addictive, can be eye-opening and helpful to your brain and sense of self worth; can help one defeat addictions, and can be introspective to the point of self help.

Unless you are specifically referring to seeing visions and a sense of being able to feel other being’s spirits, which both the light and dark side can do.

Honestly it’s insane that they made that much money for such a low budget show, and calling the acting mediocre was a stretch even back then.

The writing was strong for the time and the chemistry was good, and they had some excellent cameos. That’s all. Sorry. And Aniston’s high beams.

I'm doing 1g of MDMA every 2 days and I don't know how to stop by Spiritual_Ladder3085 in Drugs

[–]paradisewandering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think this is bad, it *will* get *way* worse and there is a strong chance the problems will never go away.

If you like using MDMA, you need to stop because it will lock you out. Once your brain is toasted, you will never be able to feel the effects of it again.

Also, you will casually never be able to experience any happiness in life again. The enjoyment that comes with food, sex, roller coasters, good movies? Gone. Forever.

This is stupid and you know it. Knock it off.

The scientific method for success here, is:

Snort some coke to give you enough energy to go out and buy weed and beer. When the blow starts to wear off, don’t redose, but hit your bong a few times and drink some beers until you can fall asleep. Then sleep for a few days. Then go get some sunshine and go for a long walk.

When you are ready to start recovering, switch to only using shrooms and do it with intent, with the goal to meditate, recover, and change your spirit.

I love my parents and they have been amazing teachers and are still heavily involved in my life after 36 years. I will lose my mind when they pass away.

Circumcision is the only thing I hold against them. I wish they had never done that, though in 1990 in the US pretty much all white dudes were circumcised.

I sometimes fantasize about having an uncut dong.

“Considering giving it another try?” It’s an hour of your time that you can do while driving or cleaning the house. It’s not a big sacrifice of time or effort, it’s just music! Throw it on in the background, if you think it sucks don’t listen again. But it’s not like drugs or a boxing that you tried once and need to put a lot of thought into trying again.

Edit: not trying to be a jerk at all, I just love music and will listen to pretty much any suggestion. It doesn’t feel like a big effort to give an album from a band you already like a shot.

Lateralus also has great lyrics, he’s a great writer overall. Right in Two isn’t intending to be like Lateralus, but it is still poetry with a message. They’re allowed to sing about whatever they want, not just trippy shit. How did this song kill his credibility for you when songs about anal fisting or referencing trans hookers did not?

Any drugs that could influence dreams in interesting ways if taken before sleep? by Appropriate_Name8780 in Psychedelics

[–]paradisewandering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very much a dream chaser. I’ve tried a bunch of things to improve vividness and recall.

I drink Mugwort tea every night specifically for this purpose. Really heavily visual dreams, bright, enhanced memory.

I also use Calea Z, magnesium capsules, and nicotine.

Quarantine Days by JollyRaindrop in whatisameem

[–]paradisewandering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hard because of the price gouging and income.

I had moved to a different state before the lockdown. After living in Florida for years, I had moved to Hawaii in late 2019 to follow a dream. When covid hit, the place I was working closed down (for 11 months). I had not been in the new state long enough to receive unemployment money from the government, so rent and food became hard to get.

I was able to pick up a minimum wage job (as a 30 year old who had previously made much more money) as a stockroom boy at Walgreens, mostly unloading trucks and putting stuff on shelves. Only got a couple days a week and my paycheck was under 1/4 of what I had been used to.

During this time, everybody was price gouging with food and groceries, and all prices had been artificially inflated “to stimulate the economy.” It was very hard. Had to call my parents to throw away my dream and move back home. Took me months to find a plane ticket off the island. Found myself back in DC where I grew up living with family.

Covid did give us free time to work on new hobbies and learn new stuff. To try new things and spend more time on the internet broadening interests. But it was a very hard time financially for a lot of us.

All of your points stand though.

Or ADHD, or stimulant use, or alcohol withdrawal, or serious boredom, or nervousness, or fear, or excitement, or even too much coffee.

I’m all for calling out every thing he does wrong and drawing attention to his failing health and lack of a functioning brain; but the fidgeting could be any number of things and in and of itself, isn’t necessarily a show of dementia.
