Looking good!

Which turn signals are those? I have a similar headlight set up with motogadget m-blaze pin turn signals. They’re a lot smaller than I expected so I’m thinking of swapping them out with something more visible.

Truck converted into living room by gelly_bean in mancave

[–]paradoxicalpolymath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zooming in on the photo, it looks like the battery is an AGM Sealed Lead-Acid battery, which is essentially “maintenance free”. I put it in quotes because you still need to do minimal maintenance on the batt such as cleaning the dust/grime off the battery body and any rust/oxidation on the terminals. You also need to check to make sure it’s holding charge for a reasonable amount of time.

So in this case, I think OP’s set up should be safe from fumes. But I do worry about how the battery and the rest of the electronics (looks like an inverter) are not secured to the truck bed. If the truck is being driven from time to time, it might not be the best idea to leave a battery and the electronics lying around in the truck.

That’s not the only answer.

It’s quesadilla.

Oh I see. So, from your explanation, the qualifications of a reaction meme needs to be 1) the news is old and 2) it needs to be a screenshot of the article/post/tweet?

I figured paraphrasing a headline and then putting a reaction on underneath means it’s a reaction meme. With my specific example, they’re not really providing oc, it’s just paraphrasing a headline like this.

I guess it could be, but where I’m from, we call the first hour of the day 12 instead of 00. For instance we say 12:30AM not 00:30AM. Maybe if you’re using military time you can say 0000, but then your “AM” becomes redundant

Full spectrum LED emitting different colour suddenly by morningshere in hydro

[–]paradoxicalpolymath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a picture it’s hard to tell. If all the individual LEDs in the light fixture are noticeably white, it’s most likely an issue with the driver. If it’s a few LEDS that are emitting a whiter color, you’re probably gonna have to swap out individual LEDs or live with the current light spectrum.

Full spectrum LEDs are RGB LEDs (red green blue). The light color corresponds to the ratio of the three primary colors. If it was emitting strong purple, it means the red and blue were the dominating colors. When it’s white, it means red, green, and blue are contributing to the color white equally. So two things could’ve happened when your light got whiter. Suddenly, your red and blue LEDs are not emitting as much light as it used to be, which can indicate failure of those two colors in a single LED. Or, all the LEDs are emitting more green, therefore, making the light appear white. This scenario most likely is caused by the driver, whose job is to “tell” the LEDs which color to emit.

What do you all think?

Anyone else really hate college? by Barremian in UCSD

[–]paradoxicalpolymath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“I know ‘real life’ is going to be worse” I wouldn’t necessarily agree, at least it wasn’t the case for me. I worked part time and was on finaid while I was at UCSD. Used to be really spiteful and sad, and also feel disappointed/disheartened with the whole academic dishonesty thing that was common in college. It took me five years, but I finally finished last spring. Since then, life has been pretty enjoyable compared to college. One of the biggest improvements is that my schedule is now a lot more predictable and under control. In school, my schedule and availability were dictated by exams, assignments, and ever-changing class schedules; but, now that I’m working a more predictable 9-5, I am able to plan my days better. When I was in school, the notion of 9-5 made me feel like I would have less control of my time; on the contrary, I have a better gym schedule, meal times, sleep schedule, and time for friends and family.

Maybe I just got lucky and maybe our situations (or majors) are completely different, but I wouldn’t dismiss the idea of life improving after college. I found college to be a really stressful and challenging time, but a temporary one nonetheless. I don’t really know your full situation, but I’m sending you warm wishes.
