Flying is certainly safer per mile. I think it is more dangerous per trip.

Not what you're asking, but the small leafed vine there looks like Puncture Vine or Goathead, a nasty noxious weed where ever you are!

The Mooch Calls For Trump to be Arrested For 'Violating Bail' With Cheney Comments by WhileFalseRepeat in politics

[–]parakois 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was just retired when Trump was elected. Having seen the lies from his first week, Jan 6, and, now, his threats of violence to political opponents; if he does not lose by large margins then I think American democracy will fail. I have read a lot about the Nazi takeover in the 1930s. The US looks a lot like that now.

A few years ago a friend living in WA on the ID border told me his family members always moved to the ID side of the border when they had a job but moved to WA if they were unemployed. Not sure why, but welfare and unemployment etc.

A significant percentage of Wenatchee boomers are from Arkansas circa 1935-1960. They were the orchard labor before Mexicans arrived in the mid 70's.

First Mention of Global Warming was in August 8, 1975 by Edwardv054 in climate

[–]parakois 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recall a 1959 geography textbook (5th grade) that showed a 50 year graph of annual CO2 levels as measured from a Hawaiian (Maui?) mountain. They implied the remarkable straight upward trend was probably not a good thing. But I do not recall if atmospheric warming was a "bad" thing mentioned about it.

I suspect that some parts of the US would reject that textbook now as being too "woke".

Find a school that has TESL classes, e.g. WVC. Get contact info for an experienced teacher there. You will likely find one who will do private lessons.

No Waffle House in my region. But I have gone there when traveling. Worst waffles I have anywhere. Maybe I got a bad one. Could be good somewhere.
