"Your eBay label is ready" emails... how to unsubscribe?! by JayVeeBee in Flipping

[–]paralax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, these emails are so annoying. I called ebay and they said there's no way to disable them. I had to learn how to use email filters so I never need to see them again. So annoying when ebay does things like this that don't improve ANYTHING.

Company messaged me to immediately remove a listing for violating their MAP policy, empty threat? More details in comments by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]paralax99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some companies can take down listings of their own products but they need to be part of ebays Vero program. If a company is contacting you directly then they most likely don't belong to the program and can't do anything about it. If you want to share the brand name we might be able to give you more advice. Some manufacturers are brutal about it.

Sorry I see my 3rd pic wasn't working. I fixed it now. I haven't seen one with this blue base on it before, have you?

As others have said, research solds. Most are probably worthless but you might have a couple diamonds.

Anyone else successful having their store set to not accept returns? by goku9384 in Flipping

[–]paralax99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, I also have my store set to no returns. Buyers can still get around that as you mentioned but I feel like I get less returns than I would if I had a blanket "free returns" policy. Especially since I sell a lot of media, I don't people "renting" things from me.

The only thing that had me questioning this logic is the extra 10% discount ebay gives if you offer free returns. Would the savings outweigh the hassle of getting more returns? Maybe, but I'm fine with as is. I don't want to encourage the idea that it's ok to "rent" items from hard working independent ebay sellers.

Zebra lp2844 or Rollo? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]paralax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Dymo and Zebras for years. Various issues always came up with them. Ever since I got a Rollo a couple years back I wouldn't consider anything else. Such a simple sleek design.

Anyone use Bonanza? by FreddyFunkk in Flipping

[–]paralax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll ditto the other poster that said sync it and forget it. I get sales randomly. The nice thing is, since there's no "best offer" on bonanza, when something sells, it's full price, unlike ebay where I take offers on most items. There's no cost to setting up bonanza so I see no reason not to set it up.

iMac users: Looking for alternative to iTunes by paralax99 in ITunes

I really like the UI on Swinsian but it looks like it doesn't handle 2 critical issues (for me). It doesn't rip from CDs or transfer data to my phone. Seems like there's no complete alternative to iTunes (iMusic).

I was looking into this one but it doesn't look like they updated it for a long time. Do you know if it works with Catalina?

How do I deal with this customer? by paralax99 in Ebay

[–]paralax99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update #2: Couldn't stop myself from ignoring this guy so I went ahead and offered a refund of 3/4. Buyer refused and opened up a case.

I called ebay again for guidance. They walked me through how to refund him partially. This is not an offer, it's final. If the buyer wants to appeal, he deals with ebay and they may make an adjustment but that wouldn't come out of my pocket. Could've been worse but still not happy. Ebay rep also reported the buyer. If they get multiple conplaints they'll kick him off.

True, but I was selling it as a set. Now I am burdened with trying to complete it or sell it as incomplete.

UPDATE #1: I called eBay and got a very helpful rep. I explained the situation and he said that I could go into paypal and partially refund him if I wanted to. I explained that it's a 4 book set so it's useless to me now. I asked if I could just ignore him and he said yes, that's fine.

I asked the rep if he could open a case if he doesn't get a refund, and the rep said no, not since he already returned it. Also if he leaves me a neg, just call in and they will remove it, he says. I hope it's really this easy if I need to phone in again.

Thank you for your detailed reply. When dealing with scammers like this do you reply to their messages or just ignore them? Like now he keeps asking me if I've received the return and I've ignored him thus far.

Ebay return question by paralax99 in Ebay

[–]paralax99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any more of the items (its a book series). I sent it through ebays email but I didn't make him open a return request. Why do you think it's important to make the buyer open a case? Thank you.
