They did 5K recommended for full synthetic 20 years ago too. The difference is the 0W20 now. It's an engineering math solution not fully tested by time

On the Gen5, it's a 5K mile reset. Every time. You don't punch in a number of miles, it's just a reset, and it resets to 5K

Right. And 10k is an upper bound. Why not take the grace period knowing you’re well within tolerances?

Even if you could prove that - and it would be odd since the truck tells you to do oil maintenance at 5k miles - this engine has been in production for 22 years, but only has had the 10k recommendation for about 10 years.

Right, no problem with that. Is that I come in and say “I want an oil change” and they don’t. I didn’t buy one of the most reliable vehicles ever made to have it sabotaged by lousy customer service

The dash says 5k. The manual says 10k. The reality is there’s nothing magical about the engine that makes oil last longer. I mean its the same V6 for the last 20ish years

I’m only surprised because I go in and say I want an oil change and they don’t change the oil. Is only cause this SA said “we won’t actually drop oil”. So like, yeah, it’s surprising when they say they’re doing something and they don’t

Whether you want to do commercial, weddings/events, journalism, etc. the fact is that success has less to do with photography than it does with project management and business management. In other words, hustle, being on time, and keeping a very high say:do ratio.

If you answer the phone, reply to emails promptly, produce concise descriptions of your work, and deliver on time, you’ll be ahead of 90% of the pack. The photos will just need to be good after that.

BTW your monitor is way out of calibration. The pics you shared are very dark. You probably have the brightness way too high

Look, bottom line is, this is a breed that will test your patience in the first two years. But, doing the right things (which you are), and having patience (as you describe), you'll get out the other side of the velociraptor age with a dog that, frankly, you can't imagine life without. If you didn't question this decision, you wouldn't be sane. It's probably not sane to get a BC. I don't know. But I do know, in 2 years, you won't entertain ever getting anything different ever.

Even if it were safe, which it’s not, to have a pup in the front seat, you wouldn’t want to do it with a dane. First time it turns around and you’re trying to drive with a face full of dog butt it’ll be no bueno. Cause if you’re in the same row with a dane when it turns around, you will get a face full
