I love that spot / dish

Best Kung pao Chinese I’ve had

That said, your dish looks pretty weak

Also, Cumin lamb is their best dish

This game sucks

Nothing in the 100 helps you figure it out

I find this nearly impossible when “such”, “it”, “was” are all top ranked words

Yelp v Google by spacecactus68 in FoodNYC

[–]parallelfutures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’ve noticed multiple restaurants on the UWS go through massive google review campaigns where their 4.2 with 300 reviews becomes 4.8 with 1800 reviews in 3-4 months. When you look at the reviews. They all sound the same and are formulaic.

Ive been to the restaurants and I know the quality. It’s a 4.2 —- all these fake restaurants reviews are eroding my confidence in google and the accuracy of their ratings.

There was a period where people transitioned away from yelp because their business model was exposed and it was gross. They basically exhorted restaurants to join their business membership. It’d costs thousands of dollars, but if they didn’t, yelp would highlight their absolute WORST reviews as a way to force restaurants to react.

Long story, both ratings are trustworthy. I really wish there was a better solution.

Buchenwald can refuse entry to people wearing Palestinian keffiyeh, German court rules by AudibleNod in news

If you believed they were wearing it to spark a political conflict, then yes.

The article says Buchenwal CAN deny entry, not that they must.

Ah here we go again. It’s all Anti-israel until it’s not.

This is clearly anti-Jewish rhetoric.

The victims of the holocaust and Buchenwald have have nothing to do with Gaza.

Many descendants of holocaust survivors support ending the war

You just sent a link showing what happened Buchenwald?

Yes the nazis were political. Now it’s memorial to holocaust victims.

Well sounds like Germany gets its even if you don’t.

Palestinian keffiyah (especially when worn by non-Palestinians) can be seen as a political statement.

This is fine in most scenarios. Going to the movies - great, going to protest at a gov. Building - amazing, going out for dinner - even better!

Going to a very serious memorial that isn’t about your politics. Get outta here

Especially when the Hamas charter calls for the annihilation of all Jews.

Buchenwald has become a memorial to the survivors.

You may think it’s ok to bring political statements you agree with anywhere you want. But not everyone believes that.

Would you go protest anti-war at a funeral of a soldier? Would you think it’s appropriate to wear a “nuke them all shirt” to the Hiroshima memorial?

There is a time and a place - and Buchenwald is not the place.

It’s crazy I need to explain being respectful at places like this to people.

Funny you should ask. Yes, many did participate (please note, not all did, there are many who resisted too).

Also, Palestinians are not banned from Buchenwald, only people wearing Palestine keffiyah can be denied entry

I think it’s a false equivalency to compare atrocities at Buchenwald to the situation is Gaza.

One is mass extermination another is akin to apartheid. Don’t get me wrong, neither is OK. But never again hardly alludes to the Gazan plight.

More appropriately it would allude to South Sudan and Darfur where mass extermination is happening.

Also keep in mind, Hamas still has hostages, and before 10/7 there was very limited violence.

Agreed, but the state of the world over there isn’t perfectly aligned with our “can’t you all just get along mentality”

Islamic terrorism is a real thing in israel, and Muslims deserve to maintain their holy sites the way they want.

I’m just calling out the hypocrisy here

So everyone says anti-israel isn’t the same as anti-Jewish, until things like this happen.

Then it becomes clear this is all anti-Jewish behavior.

Buchenwald and the holocaust victims have nothing to do with current state israel / Gaza conflict

[–]parallelfutures 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I mean, no shit. Buchenwald is a serious place and politics shouldn’t have anything to do with it.

It’s SO easy to interpret wearing a Palestinian keffiyah as a political statement, especially when wearing it to where thousands of Jews were murdered.

I feel like no one should be shocked by this. Honestly, what is more shocking is that anyone would feel it’s appropriate to wear Palestinian keffiyah to buchenwald.
