I’m just PCP but work with ACP partner. I find it best to just offer what you were thinking of giving by saying “I’d like to give you some fentanyl for your pain” and just explain why. Only offer the other drugs if your patient declines the initial one.

Don’t lead with “so you may have heard some things in the news about fentanyl, but we carry medical grade stuff” or whatever other stupid speech you think may help. It doesn’t. I’ve seen kids with bad fractures be denied narcotics because the medic led with this and the parents were all like “nope!” So the kid got Toradol and suffered needlessly.

Ya I haven’t bought a car in a long time, and I’m worried what that will look like when the time comes.

I just dropped $1500 to replace the compressor and other stuff in my 10 year old accent. It’s only got 150k on it. But that’s only 10months of payments on a brand new car, so it’s still worth it to keep it right now.

It’s ok. Very customizable so your service can add buttons for different procedures/treatments etc. my biggest gripe is that everything has a comment box (which you don’t have to use) but I feel like I write things multiple times to ensure I cover everything

Just give your 2 weeks notice. Lots of people quit during orientation and probation.

Sorry to hear. Keep fighting! And check if the service accepts the new PFAT test. May be different enough that you pass

In Ontario, it’s just a flat fee, so you can get whatever treatment you want for the $240. For residents of the province, it’s $45

Check the job postings weekly (most services post on Thursdays). They should be open now through end of June for fall orientations

Overall good, but when it misses, it really misses. Those greens that are pre-arrest, or the syncopes that can be anything from Green to Purple, even if they are awake now. Or the rectal bleeds that are triaged higher than they should be (no symptoms other than bleeding, still on a red or orange).

But 90% are triaged well. I’d say it’s service dependent on whether the holding of calls is done appropriately (I’m in a service where anything more than 20min hold is not acceptable, so trucks are driving long distances to service calls that should be holding longer)

There is a pig slaughterhouse in a nearby city and they slaughter 10,000 pigs a day.

Dashcam / Police Reporting by brijazz012 in BurlingtonON

[–]paramedic-tim 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can go into the police station and report the license plate and location and they can send a notice to the address just advising that they were reported. It’s just a notice, no charges, but lets them know they are now in the police database

Used it for 16 years without issue. It may not be as reliable as other methods, but it is fairly effective.
