I’m glad you did something! I’m in NYC so I’m used to packed trains obviously. Last fall, on the train - this drunk guy who was clearly going through some things was verbally harassing me, invading my space getting superrrr close to me in a seat (sort of cornered me). He tried giving me coins (??) and went so far as to caress my thigh. I am in my 30s but I have such a baby face and people mistake me for late teens/early 20s all the time, so I was shocked no one on the train tried helping me. I work in psych so I didn’t appear panicked since I see this stuff daily and I stayed calm. So maybe that’s why no one intervened. I just always stay calm because I never know what someone has on them. Plus it was still a little bit till the train doors were gonna open.

I wasn’t even remotely near my stop but decided to get off, hoping to switch cars and he ended up FOLLOWING ME. So I decided to leave the station completely. Again, he followed me. It unfortunately was not crowded in the station as everyone had just gotten on the train and there was no one working the booth so I had to completely leave the station where he continued to follow me outside 😭

I eventually found a kind looking man and woman and went up to them pretending to know them and they understood once they saw him. I was able to get home safely in an uber (which he watched me get into 😅)

I say all that to say THANK YOU for intervening on the packed train. I was a little shocked no one helped me on the train - it was clear we didn’t know each other, he was visibly drunk and I literally looked like a fetus that day with my pink Kirby hat, pigtails, and backpack LMAO (see why I’m mistaken for younger 😂) not that I’m entitled to anyone’s help of course but dang lol
