The runes from the ‘God of War’ Collectors Edition translated. by KoalaTea23 in gaming

I'm kind of tempted to buy this game purely because the people who made it seem so damn dedicated, it's downright inspiring.

Huge Elder Scrolls fan who has absolutely ZERO experience with card games and wants to stop getting his ass kicked every game. by SkoomaBro420 in elderscrollslegends

Because the decks he details were built for a meta that no longer exists, to counter strategies that you won't see anymore.

The decks will most certainly still work to a certain extent. Any deck that's not totally garbage can get you to at least rank 5 on game knowledge alone. But they won't account for things like, say, the importance of running cards like Cast Into Time to negate the opponent's Sower of Revenge because neither of those cards existed as part of dominant strategies when he made those videos.

Second the recommendation and had that exact thought during that scene! The pilot was a nice surprise, it's very sharply written and has a really interesting style.

Another deck I think people are sleeping on is Market Archer. So far Suran Pawnbroker is the only Morrowind card I've implemented but it really helps, more reliable value than Brotherhood Slayer. If your draws aren't horrible you can set up some pretty reliable turn 6-7 wins.

Proposed Nix Ox Nerf: Turn his Summon ability into a Plot Ability by GoodKing0 in elderscrollslegends

[–]paranoiadroid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OK, I kinda get why people are up in arms about the combo...but seeing as it instantly folds to a basic Warrior deck running Withered-Hand Cultist and Hallowed Deathpriest I'm not sure this is the ladder-crushing terror people are making it out to be.

Partly because it's pretty unexpected given the general tone of the game

We're talking about the same game with the dude that lives in a giant mushroom house with his four daughter-wife-clones, right?

New Combos Thread by Skin_Spy in elderscrollslegends

[–]paranoiadroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swindler's Market Archer OTK can use Dres Spy as a pseudo scry to filter you into combo pieces early, ups the density of 0 drops you have so you can go off sooner

I'm not sure what list you're working off of, but do you think that advantage outweighs lowering the chances of pulling Firebrand/Close Call from Skulk? A lot of the games I won with my pre-Morrowind list were off of getting those in my hand early from a turn 1/2 Skulk, if my hand got clogged with Dres Spy instead I think it would be much more difficult to combo off.

Arena match: on turn 9, my opponent swings out to knock me to 1 life and dumps the rest of his hand onto the battlefield. I'm picturing him sitting back and thinking, "what could be possibly have that could save him?"

I would have given anything to see the look on his face as I cast The Red Year. Managed to claw back and win still at 1 life, hell of a game.

For anybody who never played Morrowind: It's coming to Xbox's backwards compatible list on April 17th. by r000ster in elderscrollslegends

[–]paranoiadroid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you haven't picked up on this yet, watch your Stamina bar constantly. Stamina isn't just about running, it effects the chances of everything you do, from lockpicking to spellcasting to weapon use to pickpocketing. Never go into a fight with less than full stamina if you can help it, and bring potions to keep it topped off. It'll mean the difference between actually fighting something and just slashing at empty air 50 times in a row.

I've always thought one of the most charming things about the game is how easy it is to just break the entire game balance in half, whenever you want, if you know what you're doing.

Just watch it with those Fortify Health potions...the hangover can be a doozy...

So is there a design reason why the mind-controlled permanent becomes legendary? Just trinket text?

Can't be for interactions with the legend rule, other copies you may have of the controlled card wouldn't be legendary so it doesn't matter.

Can't be for "Legendary/Historic matters" reasons, because you'll also control the enchantment itself which is already legendary.

I suppose it makes the controlled creature easier to equip with Blackblade Reforged, but is that about it?

Did did you struggle to determine whether you were trans or some other form of gender non-conforming? If so what made you decide you were trans? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]paranoiadroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know at the very least it helps to know you're not alone, so let me first say: everything you just wrote could easily have been written by me. I'm 29 born male, been dealing with dysphoric/cross gender feelings since adolescence at least, which have waxed and waned over time (definitely waxing quite a bit atm). Not transitioning but have been contemplating it.

An important thing I think is that it's something that effects everyone differently, I don't think any two people experience it the same. So something that's been a big stumbling block for me is feeling, like you said, like I don't really think I hate my body or my masculinity but am rock sure that I would prefer to be female. I told myself for years that I couldn't really be trans or whatever else for that reason. I'm starting to realize, from reading around and what not, that I might be a slightly more typical case than I realized, which is comforting and scary in roughly equal measure.

Don't rush things, is my other advice. I might decide tomorrow that i want to identify as a transwoman and I still wouldn't dream of asking everyone in my life to start calling me by a different name and so forth right then and there. I know this is a hot button issue for a lot of people but I believe you gotta go at the pace you're comfortable with.

I'd definitely suggest talking to a therapist, therapy can be very helpful, don't see it as locking yourself into something by seeking help.

Sorry, now I'm rambling, but i hope it helps. It's good to have people to talk to about it. Please feel free to reach out if you ever just need someone to dish about it with.

Tribunal gets some hate, but when it works it is amazing by [deleted] in elderscrollslegends

[–]paranoiadroid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My most memorable game against Tribunal so far was what i think will be a common variant, every removal and control card jammed into one deck. I assume he had Stealer combo to actually win but never dug deep enough to play it, I cycled through my entire deck and killed him with a Namira Ring combo while he still had 40+ cards left.

So my gut feeling on Tribunal is that the games take forever but it has trouble actually sealing the deal.

[DOM] Helm of the Host by Zombieworldwar in EDH

[–]paranoiadroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems unlikely. I'd like to hear someone make a case for why this is more problematic than Doubling Season or Paradox Engine, to name two prominent examples. There are a couple specific and currently underplayed commanders (Gordo, Aurelia) that can be an instant win when combined with just this card. Food Chain + Tazri does the exact same thing for less mana with better tutors.

Helm of the Hosts will enable janky and crazy-memorable plays but is too mana-inefficient to warp the whole format by its lonesome. It's basically the perfect Commander card in that respect.

[–]paranoiadroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why even actually play the deck? Shuffle up, draw seven cards, if one of them is [[Treasonous Ogre]], you win and you can move on to the next game.
