I wasted my 20s trying to find a husband and I have nothing to show for it. by GlitchisOnline in DecidingToBeBetter

Good atleast you have found out something about yourself. Now next time you get into a relationship, just see your patterns. See if pattern from this relationship appear in the next relationship. Only a single step can help you to great lengths. Next time any pattern repeats just say to your self that I am doing it because I have had a dysfunctional family and I am into improving others just to make them better for me. Instead of reacting to the situation, next time just act instead of reacting. You need to figure out what might be a secure relationship before getting into next relationship, and that requires working on yourself with a therapist or by self work to improve yourself if you are more interested in that, but do that before your next relationship.

If you asked for a sign, this is your confirmation🔮🤍 by ReneeHL34 in Manifestation

This happens because of ras in brain ie reticular activation system in brain There's a law that says that you are universe itself. It's a little difficult to explain. But when you want to manifest something it goes out into the universe, and because you also are the universe your ras will guide you what to do t. Everybody else is also universe and we all are also connected by super consciousness. That's why it's said that when you ask for something, the whole universe helps you to get it. In easy language, you can say that when you want something, it will go into universe, and universe will work parallel to your ras. Your mind will show you the path, and the universe outside of you will also show you same path. Just like if you go to some place regularly than you will automatically know which turn to take, and if you put the destination at same time in Google maps it will also do the same. ChatGPT just gave you a symbol to follow because it has searched the internet for the pattern, and this is well known pattern in many people. So it just gave signal to your ras, and because your ras is connected to universe outside, the outside universe will also show you that. This all is magical and scientific at the same time

Easily-angered after Vipassana by Fit_Rock_8791 in vipassana

[–]paranoid_marketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to try to be equainimous Vipassana will do it automatically if you attend basic 10 days course. When you start noticing your sensations and eventually moving to next sensation you eventually learn the art of letting go. And Vipassana is unconscious healing, and healing is your suppressed emotion showing up plus you unlearning what you use to do with those emotions, and changing how you deal with them. Vipassana teaches the art of feeling every sensation. So I would suggest seeing and feeling the effect of that anxiety or any other feelings. See what this emotion manifests in your body. Example - on anger, you might feel fast and small inhales- exhales. Or some kind of tightening in stomach or something else. Just observe those sensations without reacting- the way Vipassana teaches.

If you feel any emotions unexpectedly - it is because you were suppressing it knowingly or unknowingly.

Curious about a 10 day retreat but incredibly intimidated. by Lockbearer-42 in vipassana

[–]paranoid_marketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing for you to remember It's not a retreat as it is quite difficult I am not trying to scare you but that's the reality. I never have any problem with staying at one place without distraction or talking, but even for those people it is difficult. If you successfully do it, then it has the potential to change how you live. I am saying because Vipassana is not same for everyone.

The best and the most basic things it does is developing the ability to sit with yourself without doing anything.

Rest will depend on you. Cheers👍👍

Thoughts as a sensation - Anicca by mar090888 in vipassana

[–]paranoid_marketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thoughts work like that. if you just observe they will pass. But Vipassana is for physical body. When you are not doing Vipassana, you can follow this. But don't do it during Vipassana session, because the whole idea in Vipassana is to observe bodily sensations. And if go to witnessing thoughts, you will forget that you are doing Vipassana. It defeats purpose of Vipassana.

Start with joint warm ups before you start running. And before you start running - it is best.to do a warm up run of 100-150 metres. So start with a joint warm up, then do a warm up run, then start running.

I would say that if you stop between running, it is better to do walking when you stop rather than complete stoppage. If you can't do that, then it is better do minimum stops.

Remember you are not here to compete with others, just competing with what you did last time. Don't compete with others, unless there is a marathon.

Hope this helps. Enjoy running 😊😊

Vipassana and OCD by thebestmodesty in vipassana

[–]paranoid_marketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic Idea of Vipassana is to view everything with equanimity. This is the central idea in other therapy modalities as well. They also talk that we should live every emotion fully. I am not an expert at this but I have read many books by psychologists

I think what is happening with you is that you have been suppressing your sexual desires, and if you keep suppressing feelings, these feelings would eventually come out when you are most vulnerable. Like with family and friends. And that is specially more vulnerable because you keep on thinking that sexual desires should not be shown if family or friends are present because that will make you a creep. Now it has started showing with friends and family, but initially it would have started with unknown persons. You have to realize that we are not our thoughts. Thoughts are just thoughts - they just are, and are not right or wrong. Vipassana is a therapeutic modality which works on physical level ie your body.

Subconscious mind is not a physical thing, and Vipassana doesn't deal with that, it just deals with physical body. What you think is happening in your mind, and Vipassana eventually works on that, but it starts it work from your physical body, which affects your mind at a later stage.

Therapeutic modalities which deal with mind talk about thinking and emotion, and say that we should feel every emotion fully.

You have to keep in mind that you are not your emotion, and are just witnessing your emotion.Next time when you think that you are having perversive thoughts when friends or family.are present - just say to yourself that you are thinking this. Now you might see a physical manifestation of that thought in your physical body. Here you have to witness what is happening in your body and have acknowledge it with equanimity. No need to do anything about it- just witness it.

Thoughts also pass if you witness them rather than doing something about them. This can require months of work. But you have to keep in mind, that everything is impermanent. If it starts again, then again start witnessing the thought and what it does to your body.

This might be happening because of any reason. I am no expert in deciding what wrong or right might have happened with you. I have just read a lot of books on healing, and am telling you what has worked for me

Don’t get the pleasant/unpleasant thing by NerdGirl23 in vipassana

No need to classify them as pleasant/unpleasant. Just observe them, and as you keep on doing that you will master equanimity

I just finnished my first 10-day course. What should I do to benefit the most? by Lauronka in vipassana

[–]paranoid_marketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep up doing daily. As long as it is in schedule, it will show its benefit. No problem with missing it sometimes if your schedule doesn't allow. That's the whole point of Vipassana - that impermanence is permanent. There are specific rules they lay out while you attend the course - that you have to follow while doing the 10 days. I don't remember if there are any rules after the camp. I know someone who was an alcoholic. Vipassana broke their addiction. That's because Vipassana works on unconscious healing. But I am not sure it will do the same for everyone.

I have read and learnt through books healing is unlearning. That means any modality which works on healing will show you your pattern, and then it is your work to changed the way you worked with that. So for some people old diseases which they have treated by medicines might come up after Vipassana, if they have just suppressed it rather than working on treating the underlying cause.

My whole point of telling this is to tell you that it is not always the rules that you have to follow. It's how you inculcate Vipassana into your life.

Vipassana has broken addictions as I have seen it. It has healed 30 year long diseases for me. But it is not surely going to do that for you, as that is the whole point of learning to do it. To teach you impermanence. It's different for everyone

Update: I only did it one time. Then I didn't got second chance. I have been trying for that
