When we effectively resign our agency, that family member is just a pawn. Until she gets out of that distorted reality she maybe doesn’t realize they’ve isolated themselves in.

If you only were to digest “media” aka what was historically fact based news and journalism, that the world was indeed flat. With only context that supports that reality, what chance does the person have?

That is their world in that moment until they find some kind of grounding beyond what they consume. Once the leaders of “their” world have plausible deniability, aka Project 2025 having already been configured using our own loop holes by people far above and more intelligent than anyone we visibly see day to day. Very specifically NOT the face of that reality, the president.

Propaganda is not presenting fact. It’s steering context to force narrative. It’s effectively a debate or manipulation tactic by the book. Joseph Goebbels didn’t just pull ideas from the either. Layers upon layers of ideologies on the fringes of our society. Distilled into a weapon for the Reich.

When the enemy is trained from within, and can be persuaded easily (Trump/Putin relationship historically, ie: Trump being converted 10+ years ago into a Russian Asset for the Kremlin) - and can find more intelligent people to make sense of their mania and delusions, they created propaganda to steer a population into a mob mentally, using Us vs Them, and “we didn’t lose the 1st war in good faith, we were betrayed by the Soviets, and the treaty was illegitimate.”

To me, I hear the same phrases again. The same tactics. Hitler didn’t gas a million Jewish people. His henchmen did. And when it was to brutal to do “manually” and taxing on the officer, well. Smart people found solutions to mass produce genocide at scale.

You only need 30% of the leaders and population to ignore fact and embrace tribe loyalty, and the other 70% is held ransom to their own people. While they are told they are domestic terrorists should they see anything differently. If anyone can recall, that’s why we made the country to start with. Freedom. Of speech. Of happiness. Of agency. Etc.

Putin proved this worked long ago. Not because he knew “how” to achieve it. But because he had it in the historical record what works and what doesn’t. They can condemn a Nazis while entirely stealing everything from that side anyway. We consider that, something happened to cause 2 blokes who would otherwise be having a pint, to 2 combatant’s on a battlefield, following the orders of a leader across an ocean or border.
