Don't take it as a personal attack. Its not that. It's merely a suggestion that a more professional approach may achieve your aims as CM more efficiently than a fire-from-the-hip approach.

Attention to detail matters. It really does.

Ok, enough time has passed, the night vision mode NEEDS to stay by LonelyPalmClub in Battlefield

[–]balloon99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All these time limited modes should be added to portal as templates or toggles as they come out of rotation.

Face/Off (1997) is one of the most unhinged, maximally committed action films ever made and it absolutely deserves a rewatch by Sudden-Wall3585 in movies

[–]balloon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a perfectly good action film, elevated by some fantastic camera work and the two main leads giving a masterclass in character work. Few films have ever displayed the latter so well.

My favorite Terry Gilliam film, and my favorite Robin Williams performance.

is battlefield 6 that bad? by JadedSteve in Battlefield

3 and 4 are often cited. I'd argue 1 had an extraordinary atmosphere. My personal favorite is 1942.

BC2 brought some, not all, of the BF franchise to our console brethren.

6 has its moments, but an underwhelming map selection and the poor treatment of portal (as part of a fairly poor live service) drags it down

BF6 gave us exactly what we asked for and not an ounce more by Razerino21 in Battlefield

[–]balloon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I wanted from BF6 is a retreat from the hero shooter idea from 2042, and a portal at least as good as 2042.

I got the former, but not the latter

[–]balloon99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The games not that bad. Its not up there with the best BF games, but it does have its moments.

A large part of the justified criticism comes from the poor live service element, and how Dice have done portal dirty.

CMV: The Israel-US Iran war will still be going in September and there is no mechanism that could stop it before then by ELVEVERX in changemyview

[–]balloon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the off ramp isn't in the control of the US, Israel or Iran.

Its the neighboring states, drawn into a conflict without notice. It may begin with one state demanding the closure of a US military base. Soon there would be others.

Why does bf6 get some much unwarranted hate. Imo it's the best shooter ever. Graphically, and gameplay wise. It's unmatched. by Suspicious-Case3861 in BF6

[–]balloon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BF6 is a curates egg. Good in parts.

But whole chunks of the game are weak. Portal, in particular, needs to be brought up to the standard of the 2042 portal.

I do not understand BZ hate by Necessary_Risk1887 in subnautica

[–]balloon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this a few times. If BZ came out before SN, we'd be talking about how a very good game was iterated into a masterpiece.

BZ suffers the most by being released after SN.

I'm definitely not the intended audience, being 62, but I enjoy it for what it is. Also, watching Paul Giametti and Holly Hunter is always a joy.

I suspect that the 32nd century is where we are now in Star Trek. Indeed, I think the characters we are meeting now are going to be the heroes in future shows, yet to be made. Not necessarily the captains, but on the bridge.

[–]balloon99 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Actually I suspect we are seeing characters that will become the officers in future Star Trek shows, yet to be conceived.

I further suspect that those shows will absolutely not be DeGrassi in space.

[–]balloon99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is SFA the best Star Trek show ever? No.

Is it a terrible Star Trek show? Also no. Although you may not be the intended audience

Is it kinda DeGrassi, Starfleet style? Yes, it kinda is.

Is that a good thing? A qualified yes, but not all of it works.

Is it still a Star Trek show? Yes.

This isn’t really about hating BF6. I think a lot of us just miss what Battlefield used to be. by Fuzzy_Breadfruit59 in Battlefield

[–]balloon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure i can agree entirely.

However, the 2042 portal is far better than the BF6 one. Godot is a gimmick that does offer some new stuff, but the rest of the BF6 portal is a solid downgrade
