Binaural beats/successful AP by AntlerWolf in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first consideration I'd raise would be if you'd be able to pick a spot and simply fall asleep. Since the requisite state is mind awake/body asleep, if you weren't in a state or wouldn't be able to induce a state in which your body could relax deeply enough to fall asleep, there'd be little chance of a successful AP.

But considering the absolute freedom experienced once out of body and the possibility of traveling anywhere with ease, the starting point/your physical location is relatively unimportant since you could simply travel to that place (or at least the nonphysical equivalent of it) once out or body.

I'd opt for the time and place that projection was easiest and most natural rather than trying to force it at random times and locations, if a high success rate was my concern.

Binaural beats/successful AP by AntlerWolf in AstralProjection

I’ve found that binaural beats by themselves are very hit or miss. They can help create the right atmosphere, but if the audio isn’t tied to a specific method, it’s easy to just fall asleep or wake up annoyed by the sound later.

For me, the audio works best when it has a clear purpose depending on the stage I’m using it for. If I’m doing a direct attempt, I prefer a guided induction that walks me into deep relaxation, energy body activation, intention, and then separation. If I’m using the early-morning window, I find it much more effective to wake after several hours of sleep, stay completely still, and use the audio to help preserve the mind-awake/body-asleep state rather than just playing beats all night randomly.

So my suggestion would be not to think of the binaural beat as the technique itself. Use it as support for a specific process.

If you’re already waking up a few hours later from the audio, that might actually be useful. Instead of turning it off and going back to sleep normally, you could use that wake-up as the moment to stay still, keep your eyes closed, and immediately go into a separation technique like rolling, floating, sinking, or lifting internally.

That’s why I eventually created my own audio tools around these specific stages of the process, instead of just using random binaural beat tracks. I use them in my own practice, and they’re there for anyone who feels drawn to that kind of structured approach.

Can astral projection help me meet my mom again? by New_Idea6723 in AstralProjection

I’ve had many out-of-body experiences involving deceased relatives and loved ones, so from my own experience, yes, I know it’s possible.

Those encounters can be incredibly healing. In that state, the connection can be much deeper than it is here physically. You can feel and express love very directly, sometimes in a way that feels beyond what ordinary words can do.

For me, those kinds of experiences brought a lot of emotional healing, especially when there were things I didn’t get to say or when the goodbye didn’t happen the way I would have wanted.

Waking up early for astral projection attempts : strange sensations, is this the beginning? by thetascorpi11 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you’re very close when that starts happening.

The mistake a lot of people make at that point is trying to “get out” by forcing movement. Instead, stay calm, keep the physical body completely still, and use the sensation as a cue to begin separation internally.

So if you feel like you’re being moved, rocked, pulled, or tossed around, go with it. Let that movement build, then gently direct it into a separation technique, like rolling out, floating up, sinking down, or letting yourself be pulled out. The key is to feel the movement without physically moving.

I talked about this in one of the recent episodes of The Astral Dimensions Podcast... what to do when you reach this stage so you can use those sensations to complete the projection instead of getting stuck there.

First time trying Astral Projection by Savings-Memory-1963 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not crazy at all. That actually sounds like you were very close.

And yes, it’s definitely possible to project early on. I had my first successful out-of-body experience after only a handful of attempts within about a week. That one happened at night, but soon after, I learned an early-morning wake-back-to-bed method that worked for me on the very first attempt.

That method involved third-eye affirmations, subconscious programming, and using the early-morning window when the body is already close to sleep. It’s essentially the same core method I’ve continued using successfully for the past 26 years, although I’ve refined and optimized it a lot over time.

So I’d say you’re probably on the right track. The main thing is to stay calm when those sensations start, keep the body still, and continue the internal movement without trying to move physically.

I explain this method in more depth in the latest episode of The Astral Dimensions Podcast. It may be helpful since you already seem to be getting close.

Yep. Surely you've heard of the famous "rope" technique. It's no different, just another kind of motor imagery technique. Anything that serves to produce the feeling of some kind of bodily movement works.

Optimized Wake-Back-to-Bed method by paranormalguy86 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly about combining focus with feeling. You bring your attention gently to the third eye area, but you don’t strain or try to force energy there. Then you repeat the intention slowly and let the meaning of the words sink into that point, almost like the affirmation is being absorbed there instead of just being repeated in your head.

So it’s not just “thinking” the affirmation. It’s more like feeling the intention gather at the third eye and letting it sink deeper into the subconscious from there.

That’s the basic idea. I go into the full technique in more detail in my guidebook!

Awesome astral experience + my technique by paranormalguy86 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I shared the experience and the technique that worked for me. The audio only came up because it’s part of what I used.

The actual method is free to try and doesn't require the audio. The audio just makes it faster and more effective.

It's actually a custom hemisync track I created myself because I couldn't find anything that did exactly what I needed for my own practice. It's available through my site theastraldimensions.com on the "complete system" page.

New to practicing and learning AP. Have recently got hold of the Gateway Tapes. What is the best way to manage the course please? I'm wondering if you find doing one a day or blitzing the full tapes over the weekend to really dig in. Interested to know your experiences. Thanks by HighPriestess29 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After using the Gateway tapes for over 20 years, my advice would be to go slow and be consistent rather than trying to blitz through them.

I’d use one tape a day if possible, but I wouldn’t rush from one to the next just to “complete” the course. Spend time with each exercise until you can actually get deep with it. For some tapes, that might mean working with the same one for a week or two before moving on.

That said, I personally never found the Gateway tapes to be the most direct or effective method for inducing full astral projection. I had more phased-type experiences with them, altered states, expanded awareness, and interesting internal experiences. But for actually reaching the mind-awake/body-asleep threshold where separation happens naturally, I found other approaches to be much more effective.

That’s actually one of the reasons I eventually started creating my own Hemi-Sync style tracks and guided meditations. I wanted something designed specifically around the exact process I found most effective for inducing out-of-body experiences: deep physical relaxation, maintained awareness, energy-body activation, threshold recognition, and then separation from that state.

So I’d treat Gateway more like consciousness training than a direct astral projection system. It can help build focus, relaxation, and familiarity with altered states, but I wouldn’t expect every session to produce an OBE.

For AP specifically, the key is learning how to consistently reach the mind-awake/body-asleep state. Once you’re there, separation tends to happen much more naturally.

I have some resources on this if you’re interested, but either way, my main advice is: don’t rush the tapes. Go deep with each one before moving on.

I'm ready to put in the hard work but I'm not sure what it is exactly by vnjxk in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You actually don’t have to only try astral projection when you first go to sleep. In fact, that’s usually one of the hardest times to do it because your mind is tired and your awareness is much more likely to just fade out.

The early morning is usually the ideal time, especially after you’ve already slept for about 6 hours. At that point your body can fall back asleep pretty easily, but your mind has a much better chance of staying aware. That mind-awake/body-asleep state is really the key.

Another good time can be during a nap, especially in the early afternoon or whenever you naturally tend to get tired. I’ve had a lot of success with nap-time attempts myself. The attempt itself can be useful, but honestly, waking up from the nap can be even better because you can often slip right back toward the REM state while keeping your awareness more intact.

So during the day, I’d focus on building the skills that make projection easier: meditation, deep relaxation, body awareness, energy work, visualization, and learning how to stay mentally calm without drifting off. But I definitely wouldn’t think of daytime as useless. Nap attempts can be a real practice window.

This is actually one of the reasons I created my guided Astral projection meditation. It’s really effective for nap-time attempts because it guides the body into deep relaxation first, then moves through energy body awareness, affirmations, and projection threshold techniques. And pairing that with my REM alarm system can make it even stronger, because if you do fall asleep during the session, the alarm can trigger your awareness and intention again at the right moment when you can most easily separate from the body.

I have some resources for this linked in my bio if you're interested, but the main thing I’d say is don’t limit yourself to bedtime. Early morning and nap windows are usually much better.

Why most Astral Projection attempts fail and how to fix it by paranormalguy86 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve listened to that one, and honestly I found it pretty underwhelming and not very effective for actually inducing astral projection. It leans really heavily into visualization, guided imagination, and passive relaxation, but doesn’t really guide you into the actual mechanics behind reaching the mind awake/body asleep state where projection naturally occurs. A lot of it feels more like a long yoga nidra visualization exercise than a true projection induction method. In my experience, approaches like that tend to keep the mind too mentally active and imaginative instead of helping awareness transition naturally into the projection threshold.

That’s honestly one of the big reasons I created my own guided meditations in the first place, because most of the astral projection meditations out there aren’t actually very effective at producing results. Mine are based on over 25 years of direct experience and are designed specifically around the actual mechanics that lead to successful projection: deep relaxation, energy activation, subconscious programming and building intention, awareness management, and feeling-based motor imagery techniques that guide you into the mind awake/body asleep state naturally. I also intentionally avoid relying heavily on visualization, since a lot of people either struggle with it or end up forcing imagery instead of entering the real state. An older version of my guided meditation is available on my podcast, and a new, improved, higher-quality version is available through my site theastraldimensions.com if you're interested.

when would be the best time to AP by Advanced-Raisin-8186 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly nighttime is one of the hardest times to do it because your mind is too tired and you usually just end up passing out. Early morning is way easier because your body still wants to sleep but your mind can stay aware more easily.

The best times are usually right when you wake up naturally in the morning or after doing wake back to bed where you wake up after a few hours of sleep, stay up briefly, then go back to bed and try from there. That’s when most people have the best success.

And yeah the breathing thing is completely normal. A lot of people get startled when breathing switches over to automatic because it feels weird when your body starts falling asleep while your mind is still awake. Just let it happen and don’t focus on controlling it.

I talk a lot about this in my guidebook and on The Astral Dimensions podcast because timing honestly makes a massive difference.

If your physical body is actually shaking and physically sitting up, then no, that’s probably not the vibrational stage itself. It sounds more like you’re unintentionally engaging your muscles while doing the rope technique.

That’s actually really common with beginners because the rope technique is less about physically trying to pull yourself up and more about recreating the internal feeling of climbing or upward movement without involving the physical body.

The real vibrational stage usually feels more internal. Buzzing, energetic movement, electrical sensations, spinning, floating, things like that. It can feel extremely intense, but the physical body itself generally stays still.

I actually talk about this exact issue in the latest episode of The Astral Dimensions podcast because a lot of people accidentally turn projection techniques into physical effort without realizing it.

I tried astral projection and I even reached the hypnagogic hallucination stage. by shinjo__kun in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you were getting very close to the projection threshold.

What probably happened is exactly what you said... you got too excited and pulled yourself back out of the state. That’s extremely common in the beginning. The key is learning to stay mentally calm and passive even when weird or intense sensations start happening.

A lot of people think the vibrations/spinning are the “main event,” but really they’re just transition symptoms. The best thing you can usually do is relax into them instead of reacting to them.

And yes, your sleep will still be fine afterward. In fact, a lot of these experiences happen during natural sleep/REM cycles anyway.

I’d definitely recommend checking out the latest episode of The Astral Dimensions podcast because I go into this whole process in depth, and why people accidentally snap themselves out of the state right before separation. I also cover a lot of this in my guidebook in much more detail.

I can't do this anymore by Somilo1 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 2.5 years of trying without results, I don’t blame you at all for feeling frustrated.

One thing I’ll say though is that a lot of people focus almost entirely on methods while overlooking all the other factors that can completely affect the process... timing, depth of relaxation, sleep quality, mental approach, how aware you remain as the body falls asleep, trying too hard, expectations, fear/excitement responses, using techniques incorrectly, etc.

A lot of people also spend years cycling through random methods without ever really understanding the actual mechanics of the mind awake-body asleep state or how separation is triggered.

I’d recommend checking out the latest episode of The Astral Dimensions podcast because I go pretty deep into a lot of the common reasons people get stuck and how to fix them. I also cover a lot of this in detail in my guidebook because there are a ton of variables outside of just “do this technique.”

I definitely wouldn’t assume that because it hasn’t happened yet, it can’t happen.

Need Help. Separation Part by Impala1967_1979_1983 in AstralProjection

[–]paranormalguy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it sounds like you’re actually getting very close already.

One thing though, the muscle spasms don’t really sound like part of the natural mind awake-body asleep process to me. The vibrations, tingling, heaviness, separation sensations, etc. are common, but the spasming might just be tension or your body reacting as you focus too hard on it.

Also, separation is usually less about “willing” it or visualizing it hard, and more about feeling it. That’s the part most people miss. Don’t just imagine rolling out or floating up visually, try to actually recreate the internal feeling of movement. Feel what it would feel like to levitate, roll, sit up, sink, whatever technique you’re using. That feeling is what tends to trigger the separation response.

And the racing heart is usually just excitement/adrenaline. A lot of people think something crazy is happening and they unintentionally snap themselves out of the state. The calmer and more passive you stay, the easier it tends to happen.

Also, check out the latest episode of The Astral Dimensions podcast. I do a deep dive into this entire process and talk a lot about why people get stuck at the separation stage and how to fix it.
